Spring Baseball Season Information

As of today, we are under an order from Governor Abbot that limits social gatherings to 10 people. Obviously this will prohibit us from running games in the immediate future. The Governor’s order is in effect until midnight April 3.

While each and every person wants to keep a sense of normalcy in these very trying times, our primary responsibility is the health and safety of our players, their families and our staff. Rothwood and Klein Park will remain closed to ANY activity including games and practices until at least April 4th, which would coincide with the lifting of restrictions from the state. This means that we will not allow any visitors into the park other than paid staff and authorized board members. If you are wondering if you are an authorized board member, you are not, they are aware of who they are.

During the next 2 weeks, our staff will prepare plans under various scenarios for returning to play, based on guidelines that we receive from local, state and federal authorities. We have already completed several scenarios to conduct the season, none of our current plans involve cancelling the spring season. We have even worked a scenario where the season could begin in 8 weeks and play to a conclusion.

We have taken measures and are continuing to refine our plans to keep every one safe when play resumes. We are replacing the lavatory fixtures with touchless fixtures and have modified our cleaning procedures so that we can sanitize public areas much more frequently. Through our FanFood online service, we already have procedures in place to deliver food to our customers while limiting the contact with our concessions staff.
