2024 Annual Board of Director Election

Spring Klein Sports Association, Inc (the "Association"), is the not-for-profit Corporation that oversees the operation and ownership of the Rothwood Baseball Complex, as well as the operation of Klein Park and Collins Park, which are leased from Harris County.  The Association is operated by an elected, volunteer Board of Directors, 1/2 of which are elected each May for a 2 year term.  Adult Participants, Adult volunteers appointed by the board, Parents (or legal guardians) of minor participants in one or more of our sports programs are eligible to vote in these elections.  We strongly encourage all of our members to participate in the election process and to take an active role in your child's activities.

The following positions are currently up for election
             President - SKSA (Otis L Davis, Incumbent)
             President - Adult Softball (Debbie Gibson, Incumbent)
             President - Select Baseball (Jessie Stinson, Incumbent)
             Vice President - Legal (David Andis, Incumbent)
            *Jesse Stinson was appointed as President - Select Baseball concurrently with the creation of the Klein Mustangs as a sub organization of SKSA.  As per SKSA bylaws, this position must be approved at the next regular election.  As this is a new position, this will be a full term and the term will expire in 2026).

The Board will solicit nominations for these positions until Monday, April 29 at 12pm (noon).  If you wish to place your name, or the name of another member on the ballot for a position, please email the individual's name and contact information to [email protected].  Each nominee will be contacted to determine their willingness and qualifications to serve as a director of the Association.  Elected individuals will serve from Aug 1, 2024 until July 31, 2026.

Nominations will also be accepted to fill the unexpired term of VP Finance, which is currently an open position

The election will run from Sunday, May 5 until Sunday, May 12.

President of SKSA (Otis L Davis, Incumbent)
               President of Association. The President shall be the principal executive officer of the Association and shall, in general, supervise and control all of the business and affairs of the Association. He shall preside at all meetings of the Members and of the Board of Directors. He may sign, in addition to any other proper officer of the Association authorized by the Board of Directors, any deeds, mortgages, bonds, contracts or other instruments that the Board of Directors has authorized to be executed, except in cases where the signing and execution thereof shall be expressly delegated by the Board of Directors or by these Bylaws or by statute to some other Officer or agent of the Association, and, in general, he or she shall perform all duties incident to the office of president and such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board of Directors from time to time.



President - Adult Softball (Debbie Gibson, Incumbent)
          The Division Presidents, including President of Adult Softball, shall be generally responsible for the overall operation of his or her sports division and shall perform such other duties as determined by the Board of Directors. Such Division Presidents shall appoint and retain, subject to confirmation by the Board of Directors of the Association, an executive board of coordinators consisting of not less than 4 persons or more than 8 persons (not counting the Division President who shall also serve on such executive board) who shall assist the Division President as determined within his or her discretion. The Division Presidents shall preside over meetings of any executive board of coordinators of their respective divisions of the Association. 

President - Select Baseball (Jesse Stinson, Incumbent) 
     The Division Presidents, including President of Adult Softball, shall be generally responsible for the overall operation of his or her sports division and shall perform such other duties as determined by the Board of Directors. Such Division Presidents shall appoint and retain, subject to confirmation by the Board of Directors of the Association, an executive board of coordinators consisting of not less than 4 persons or more than 8 persons (not counting the Division President who shall also serve on such executive board) who shall assist the Division President as determined within his or her discretion. The Division Presidents shall preside over meetings of any executive board of coordinators of their respective divisions of the Association.

Vice President - Legal (David Andis, Incumbent)
     The Vice President-Legal shall be generally responsible for and advise the Board of Directors concerning all legal matters pertaining to the Association, and shall perform other duties as determined by the Board of Directors.

Qualifications to be a Director - Each Director must be a Member of the Association and, except for the Vice President-Legal, the Vice President-Finance, and the Vice President-Softball, shall have previously served as a member of the general board of one of the operating divisions of the Association. The Vice President-Legal shall be admitted to practice law in the state of Texas and shall be in good standing with the State Bar of Texas and/or any other regulatory and/or administrative entity that governs or regulates the practice of law in the state of Texas. The Vice President-Finance shall have an accounting or finance degree from an accredited college or university, or must currently work or have had previous work experience in an accounting or financial management/advisory position. No full-time employees of the Association are eligible to serve as a Director while employed by the Association.
