East Hampton Little League offers Baseball and Softball in 3 divisions: Olympic, American(Minors) and National(Majors).
We also offer a Coed Tee Ball Division!
Coed Tee Ball
This Coed Tee Ball division is for 5 and 6 year old players. This level of play focuses on the fundamentals of the game and teaching the kids the skills needed to play ball. This division will focus on skills and drills in a fun environment. It will also give each child the opportunity to play in games each week with their team.
Coach Pitch Minor (Olympic) Division
The Olympic Division is a coach-pitched league for participants in 1st and 2nd grade. This level of play fosters skills development and an understanding of the rules and nuances of the game. The focus remains on the fun of playing the sport and sportsmanship, while coaching attention is given to fielding, making plays, accurate throwing, proper hitting technique and preparing the player for player-pitch in the American Division. Game scores are not kept in this division.
Unless specified in local rules, play follows all rules and regulations outlined in the Little League 2025 Official Rule Books. For further clarification, coaches should contact their division coordinator.
Player Pitch Minor (American) Division
The American Division also known as the Minor League is a modified coach pitch league for participants in 3rd and 4th grade. In this division, a higher level of game understanding and ability is taught. Competition as it relates to winning and losing is introduced at this level. Winning and losing remain secondary to the essential goal of teaching each player to embrace success or failure with grace and to learn from both. Primary goals are to give players as much experience and playing time as possible and encouragement of ongoing development for all players in all phases of the game. This important developmental division provides a relatively even but not necessarily equal distribution of playing time among players. American League has players pitch, scoring and umpiring.
Unless specified in local rules, play follows all rules and regulations outlined in the Little League 2025 Official Regulations and Playing Rules Softball and Baseball books for the Minor Leagues.
Major (National) Division
The National Division also known as the Major League is a player pitch league for participants in 5th, 6th, and age eligible 7th graders. This division promotes competition to a higher degree as compared to the American Division. Within this more competitive environment, the emphasis remains on improving skills, building individual self-esteem, promoting team camaraderie and emphasizing fair play. The division is designed to be both the satisfying culmination of some players’ Little League careers and to prepare other players for higher levels of play including advancement in Little League Tournament play and readiness to move up to play middle-school and high-school softball and baseball. The National Division guarantees playing time but not necessarily equal distribution among players.
Unless specified in local rules, play follows all rules and regulations outlined in the Little League 2025 Official Regulations and Playing Rules Softball and Baseball books for the Major Leagues. For further clarification, coaches should contact their division coordinator.
