Children from ages 4 to 16 years old can be Little Leaguers. With several age-specific divisions, there are fun, competitive baseball and softball opportunities for both boys and girls who join Gilroy Little League.
But, before players can put on their Little League uniform they need to determine their league age. To learn a player’s league age, Little League uses an Age Determination Date, with Little League Baseball and Little League Softball having distinct, different dates.

Little League’s Baseball and Softball divisions do have slight differences regarding the age classification of players. Based on the number of players registering to play in a given season, each local league has the option to adjust the age groupings of the players in their league, in accordance with Little League rules and regulations. This allows all participants, from Tee Ball and Coach Pitch to Senior League, to have a fun, meaningful experience.
We strongly recommend that you register your child for the appropriate division based on the player’s current skill level.

Co-Ed T-Ball = League Age 4-6 (Baseball Age Chart used to determine TBall League Age)
Baseball A (Coach Pitch) = League Age 6 or 7
Baseball AA (Kid Pitch) = League Age 7 or 8
Baseball Minors = League Age 9 & 10 (possible 8 & 11)
Baseball Majors = League Age 11 & 12 (possibly 10)
Baseball Juniors = League Age 13 & 14 (15 possibly eligible)
Baseball Seniors = League Age 14-16 (High School Players preferred - Senior season doesn't start until High School Baseball season is over.)
Softball Instructional = League Age 7 & 8
Softball Minors = League Age 9 & 10
Softball Majors = League Age from 11-12
Softball Juniors = League Age 13 & 14
Softball Seniors = League Age 14 & 16 (High School Players preferred - Senior season doesn't start until High School Softball season is over.)
