EGPW was established in 2012 with the vision to become an integral part of our tight-knit school families and communities. Last season, we celebrated our 10th Anniversary with over 1,200 athletes and over 300 volunteers. Each Association is catered to its community and is filled with dedicated volunteers who devote countless hours nearly year-round to the families in their Association.
WE ARE EAST GEORGIA POP WARNER, and we offer:
📚 STABILITY! We have been a true feeder system since 2012. Participants practice near their homes and schools and play games on SATURDAYS in our high school stadiums! EGPW GAME-DAY Saturdays are truly a one-of-a-kind experience!
📚SCHOLASTICS! More than just athletes! – Pop Warner is the only national youth sports organization in America that requires its participants to perform adequately in the classroom before permitting them to play. Students are also recognized and awarded for their scholastic efforts at local, region, and national banquets.
📚Each year, EGPW hosts a local hometown championship for football AND cheer. Winning teams advance to Southeast Region playoffs and competition, and Region winners advance to the Pop Warner Super Bowl and National Cheer and Dance Championships.
📚NO TRYOUTS! – Pop Warner programs have no tryouts or cutting of players.
📚MANDATORY PLAY REQUIREMENTS: Everyone participates under mandatory rules of play, so every child is guaranteed to play. EGPW has a strict policy for documenting, enforcing, and holding teams accountable for adherence.
📚Team Structure – EGPW teams are structured by age.
Due to having 8 Associations, EGPW has several football teams in all divisions. Sideline and completion cheer is offered in all divisions. And, EGPW is pleased to announce that we are now offering adaptable football and cheer for our athletes with special needs.
📚Volunteers & Coaches – We currently have over 300 volunteers, and they are screened and trained thoroughly, and they are heavily invested in our athletes and their families. Beginning in February all the way through the first day of practice (August 1st), VOLUNTEERS spend countless hours preparing for the season by having monthly meetings, engaging in weekly communications, and offering off-season workouts—including hosting camps and clinics and participating in camps and clinics with our local schools. All volunteers are also required to complete a national background check, a hands-on live clinic, and a national online certification. Once the season begins, Board Members and coaches continue having weekly and monthly meetings and are at all practices and games to maintain the most safe, structured, and fun environment possible.
📚It all starts here – The National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) estimates that between 60% and 70% of all NFL players began their careers playing Pop Warner Football.
📚Safety – All EGPW Associations and teams have Emergency Action Plans that are documented and practiced. EGPW also has medical/safety personnel on the sidelines at all games. Pop Warner is committed to remaining proactive on all medical issues that affect youth sports, particularly football and cheerleading, with a primary focus on prevention and proper identification and treatment of concussions, hydration awareness, proper nutrition guidelines, and general health and safety
📚CONDUCT EXPECTATIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITY: All coaches, volunteers, and football and spirit participants must abide by a Code of Conduct which includes several provisions. If any of these rules are broken, EGPW holds its members accountable.
