Media Flag Football is an NFL FLAG league. NFL FLAG is the country’s leading flag football program, with unmatched standards of safety, education and support. 

All games will take place at Rose Tree Elementary School on Sunday mornings and game times can start as early as 9AM. The league will consist of seven (7 ) weeks. It will include one (1) preseason practice and six (6) games There will  be playoffs, details  will be communicated after teams are formed..

All players must register INDIVIDUALLY and will then be assigned to a team. If you have a teammate request, please note that player’s FULL NAME in the teammate request section when registering and we will do our best to accommodate this for you. Please keep in mind that if you would like a group of players to play together that we cap rosters at 10 players per team but everyone MUST register INDIVIDUALLY.

Important Information: The first and only preseason practice for this league will be the week of September 4th. Coaches may opt to have additional practices during the season. Players will collect their reversible jersey and flag belt from their coach  during their 40-minute allotted practice time.

The first set of games for the season will be on Sunday, September 11, 2022. All games will follow each week after. The last game of the season will be on Sunday, October 16, 2022*. In the event of inclement weather, we will make up the missed  games in order to guarantee the six (6) game schedule.

*Please note this make-up date could take place on another day of the week in order to guarantee all games are played and some weeks teams will play two games in the same day*

Playing Format: Teams will play 5v5

Game Length: Two(2) 20-minute halves, running clock, 5 minute HALFTIME(halftime may be shortened to keep to time schedule), each team will get one (1) 30 second timeout

Equipment: All players MUST wear a mouth guard (not provided by league)

Volunteer Coaches: All teams will be coached by Volunteer Parents. Parents who are interested in coaching their child’s team should note that in the registration form along with your email when registering.

What To Do After You Register: Team assignments and game schedules will be posted on the at least  five days prior to the start of the season. Media Flag Football will also e-mail players with this information when it becomes available.

-Media Flag Football reserves the right to combine age groups in order to create a more positive experience for all participants. Additionally,  Media Flag Football is separate from RTC travel flag.

Flag Football Information

Here are some key details about fall flag football.

1. Rose Tree Colts travel flag is separate from Media Flag Football. 

   1. RTC Travel Flag will compete against flag teams, ages 5-6, in the IYFL.

   2. Media Flag Football is a NFL Flag affiliate league that allows for in house play and no travel for players age 4-10.

   3. Players are allowed and encouraged to play both.

2. Team Selection

   1. Selection for the RTC Flag travel team will happen on August 16th after the flag workout camp. The team will be capped at 12 players. 

   2. Selection of  MFF teams will happen at the close of registration on August 30th. Teams will have a min. of 8 players.

3. Coaches

   1. RTC Travel will be coached by RTC Coaches

   2. MFF teams will be coached by parent volunteers

   3. All Coaches have background checks and rtc have coaching safety certifications.

4. Practices

   1. RTC Flag practices Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:15-7:30 starting 8/18

   2. MFF flag will have one scheduled practice on Wednesday September 7th( tbd). Any additional practice will be up to team coaches

5. Games

   1. RTC Travel games will correspond with IYFL league play. Games will typically be played Saturday mornings with start times 8am or later. Opposing teams are located around the tri-county area.

   2. MFF games are played at the Chief Hampton Field, behind Rose Tree Elem. Games are played Sunday mornings 9am-11am( make up games will be played Wednesday or Friday nights).

6. Game play

   1. RTC Flag is 7v7 and uses IYFL rules.

   2. MFF is 5v5 and uses NFL Flag rules.

7. Uniforms and Flags

   1. RTC Flag will wear Colts Flag uniforms

   2. MFF will wear NFL team gear.

   3. Flag belts will be provided for each game.

8. Flag Workout camp

   1. There will be a one day flag workout camp Tuesday August 16th. This workout will help asset skills for placement of teams. If you are unable to make it, no worries your child will still be placed on a team. ( RTC travel team will be selected from participants)

   2. 4-6 year olds 6pm-7pm

   3. 7-10 year old 7pm-8pm
