The SAEBA offers two programs to the youth of the Shaler Area community. The SAEBA provides an In-house program for both boys and girls in grades 1 through 6 and a competitive travel program for boys and girls in grades 3 through 6.
Registration Information for players interested in the Travel Program:
If you and your child are interested in the Travel program, please note that there will be a tryout process to make a travel team. This tryout will be held in mid-October. The tryout will be run by outside, independent evaluators that will assess each player trying out. Following the tryout, the travel teams will be created and players who make the team will be notified. If you register for the travel program, there will not be any fees collected until after tryouts and the teams are created. If your child makes a travel team, the registration payment for the Travel program will be collected before the season begins on October 26, 2024. If your child does not make a travel team, your child will be automatically moved to the In-House program, and you can decide to accept that placement and make payment at the In-House registration rate before the In-House season starts.
Registration Information for players interested in the In-House Program:
If you and your child are interested in the In-House program, you can simply sign your child up for the program and payment will be collected following the completion of the Travel program’s tryout process in mid-October and teams are assigned. There is not a tryout process for In-House players. All In-House practices/games will be held within the Shaler Area community and players will play against fellow Shaler Area players. Our In-house program is scheduled to begin on Saturday November 2, 2024.
Fundraising Information:
There will be one fundraising event for every family (account) registered with the SAEBA. If a family has more than 1 child registering, they will only have 1 fundraising fee. The fundraising fee is $50. When the season begins, each family will be provided five tickets to sell for $10 each. By selling the tickets, you will have the opportunity to recoup your money. Ticket stubs will be the only thing collected at a later date. More information about the ticket raffle will be provided closer to the start of the season.
Interested in Coaching:
If you are interested in coaching a Travel team or In-House team, please visit complete a coaching application under the Coaches Corner Tab on this website. Interested coaches will have to complete the application and provide PA State Criminal and PA Child Abuse clearances. These clearances are free for volunteers. Coaching applications will be due by October 11, 2024 for travel and October 23, 2024 for In-House. Submission of a coaching application does not guarantee a coaching position. All submissions will be reviewed by the SAEBA board.
Open Gym Opportunities:
There will be two open gym opportunities for any child that has registered for either SAEBA program during the first two weeks of October. More information will be shared through email and will be posted on the organizations Facebook page as gym permits are processed.
