BOYS AND GIRLS IN-HOUSE BASKETBALL (1st - 6th Grade)
The In-House Program at SAEBA will provide an opportunity for ALL boys and girls within the Shaler Area School District in grades 1 through 6 to give basketball a try. Our goal is for players to have fun learning and playing the game of basketball in a less-competitive setting. This program will be centered around several clinics, training sessions, and league games.
The program will be divided by age group to make sure that your child can make the most out of competition, while increasing the likelihood of improvement without being discouraged. This will put players in a position to develop their foundational skills (dribbling, passing, and shooting), as well as lead to a sense of achievement.
In-house sessions are run on Saturdays and Sundays. Saturdays are usually for our 1st through 2nd grade groups and Sunday are for our 3rd through 6th grade groups. Practice/Game sessions will be held between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. There is a possibility to add one practice time a week for our 3rd through 6th grade groups if more gym time is made available.
Our coaches will be tasked with helping players develop agility, coordination, endurance, flexibility, speed, and strength. In game situations, players will learn to cooperate with teammates and coaches, which will improve their communication skills. We will strive to ensure that while all players continue to learn, they also have fun, so they develop an interest in pursuing sports participation as they get older.
