Mission

South Park Wrestling is dedicated to developing lifelong skills and values (e.g., commitment, perseverance, sportsmanship, dedication, and humility) in young men and women through wrestling.  We develop all levels of elementary, middle, and high school wrestlers through teaching wrestling fundamentals while also supporting their advancement through local and national tournaments, clinics, camps, and wrestling club participation.

Vision

South Park Wrestling aims to be:
  1) The winter sport-of-choice at South Park
  2) A multi-purpose organization, accommodating both recreational and competition wrestlers
  3) A pipeline and enabler for a playoff-caliber high school team
  4) A recognized, high-quality program throughout the local wrestling community.

Values

Without strong values, our organization cannot meet our vision and we will not deliver excellence to our children.  To meet our vision and best support our athletes, our values are:

Growth

South Park Wrestling is a place of learning and personal growth.  Wrestling is a challenging individual sport giving ample character-building opportunities.  Our coaches use these opportunities to develop our wrestlers but at the wrestlers’ pace.

South Park Wrestling also values coaches and participating families embracing growth and continuing to grow themselves.  We value your help guiding our athletes through the challenges they face.  We value families growing their own skills by taking active roles in our organization and adding their unique perspectives.
Respect

South Park Wrestling is an organization built on respect.  We respect the families committing to bring their young athletes and guiding their growth, we respect our athletes committing their time and energy to the sport, and we respect our coaches for developing our athletes.

To champion this value, we are committed to instilling awareness, gratitude, and humility in our athletes and community.  Further, we emphasize on self-respect and making good decisions.  We believe that self-respect is a key enabler for achieving greatness.
SportsmanshipSouth Park Wrestling prides itself on demonstrating the highest sportsmanship.  Sportsmanship is the visible outcome of a growth and respect culture.  We understand that every time our athletes step on the mat is an opportunity to learn and we understand that our athletes will face opponents who will get the best of them.

Our athletes, parents, and coaches are known for being good-natured and loving the sport.  We value the friendships we make in our wrestling community and, while we can cheer passionately for our athletes, understand that, at the end of the day, they're children and young adults looking to enjoy themselves.
CommunitySouth Park Wrestling is a community.  Wrestling is a unique sport, one of the only youth sports where you spend more time watching your teammates than competing.  It's also a physically and mentally challenging sport, testing perseverance against adversity.  As in life, the best way to confront adversity is with the support of our community.

Wrestling opportunities are community events.  We welcome our parents to stay during practice and build friendships.  We encourage our athletes to cheer for one another during wrestling events and we encourage our athletes to attend tournaments together.  We also value the larger wrestling community building relationships and networks throughout the area so we can learn more and best deliver for our athletes.
CommitmentSouth Park Wrestling needs all of us and values commitment from our members.  To be successful in a physically demanding, technical sport, our athletes commit themselves to challenging practices multiple times a week.  Our best athletes take that commitment further and attend clubs to further their development.

Our coaches are committed to hours of practices and hours of matches and tournaments.  Our coaches are also committed to building as much individual learning as possible for our athletes.  Our board is committed to creating the best opportunities for our athletes. And, our parents are committed to helping deliver a great experience to our athletes and anyone we're hosting.
