The purpose of the District 13 Fall Ball Program is to provide instruction and experience for each player’s next season of Little League.
Player’s will register and play using their league age for NEXT SEASON. For example, a player that is currently league aged 12 will register as a 13-year-old and be assigned a team/division based on being a 13-year-old. This creates the following age structure for fall ball: Minors 6-8, Majors 9-11, Juniors 12-14
District Interleague Rules and the Little League Rulebook (regular season) will be used except as noted in these rules.
Home team provides the umpire and both teams provide two balls at the beginning of the game, then alternate as more baseballs are needed.
There is no maximum roster limit. Each team must have a minimum of 8 players to start and finish the game. There will be NO penalty for having only eight players in a lineup; there is no automatic out for the ninth spot in a batting order.
Continuous batting order must be used.
All players must meet mandatory play as stated in the Little League rulebook. If the game is being played on a field without lights, it is recommended that defensive substitutions be made at the start of the third inning to facilitate mandatory play before darkness ends a game.
Players are permitted to pitch a maximum of six consecutive outs.
Each half inning ends after 3 defensive outs, or 5 runs are scored.
Regarding bats being used: Regular season bat rules apply.
If at the end of three (3) innings (two and one-half innings if the home team is ahead), one team has a lead of fifteen (15) runs or more, the manager of the team with the least runs shall concede the victory to the opponent. If at the end of four or five innings one team has a lead of ten (10) runs or more, the manager of the team with the least runs shall concede the victory to the opponent. The home team, if behind, must bat in its half of the inning. Add one inning to each run rule for Junior and Senior baseball and softball.
