Intermediate Coach Pitch (6U) – Boys

  1. T-Balls used for practice and games (softer version for safety purposes)

  2. Playing time shall be 3 innings or 60 minutes (whichever comes first)

  3. Every child will hit once each inning

  4. Coaches are encouraged to be on the field during play to provide instruction

  5. Coaches will pitch to batters, If a player does not make contact after five (hittable) pitches, the player will hit off a tee.

  6. All players in the field (ideal roster size for this level is 7-8)

  7. No bunting, stealing or tagging up

  8. There will be no catcher

  9. No outs will be recorded

  10. Last at bat of each inning will be a homerun to clear the bases (all players should get this opportunity during the season)


Rookies (7U) – Boys

  1. Division uses hardballs

  2. Teams will not keep score

  3. Coaches are encouraged to be on the field during play to provide instruction

  4. Half the team or 5 batters should hit each inning (whichever is greater)

  5. There are 10 players in the field (4 outfielders, 1 catcher)

  6. Max 6 innings, and game must not exceed 75 minutes (no new innings after 60 minutes)

  7. Kids will pitch from 40 feet (no coach pitch)

  8. Balls and strikes will be called by a coach/manager from behind the pitcher’s mound

  9. If there is a walk or strikeout, the batter will hit off a tee

  10. Bases will be 60’ apart (or as close as possible while keeping them in the infield)

  11. Outs can and should be made on runners (runner removed from base if thrown out)

  12. Batters can and should advance on balls hit into outfield

  13. On batted balls to the outfield, the play is dead when the ball is returned to the infield and in possession of a fielder (runners more than halfway between bases get the next base)

  14. Universal lineup must be used

  15. No bunting, stealing, or tagging up

  16. All players must be rated by their manager in advance of Rebels tryouts in May


Farm (8U) – Boys

  1. Teams will not keep score

  2. Coaches are encouraged to be on the field during innings to provide instruction

  3. Half the team or 5 batters should hit each inning (whichever is greater)

  4. There are 10 players in the field (4 outfielders and 6 infielders)

  5. Max 6 innings, but game must not exceed 90 minutes (no new innings after 75 minutes)

  6. Kids will pitch from 42 feet

  7. Balls and strikes will be called by a coach/manager from behind the pitcher’s mound

  8. Bases will be 60’ apart (or as close as possible while keeping them in the infield)

  9. Outs can and should be made on runners (runner removed from base if thrown out)

  10. Batters can and should advance on balls hit into outfield

  11. No bunting, tagging up, dropped third strike, or infield fly rule

  12. Stealing from 2B to 3B (only) is permitted once the pitch crosses home plate

  13. On batted balls to the outfield, the play is dead when the ball is returned to the infield and in possession of a fielder (runners more than halfway between bases get the next base)

  14. Universal lineup must be used

  15. All players must be rated by their manager in advance of Rebels tryouts in May


Minors (9U) – Boys

  1. Teams will keep score using the GameChanger app (only)

  2. All teams will make the playoffs

  3. There are 10 players in the field (4 outfielders and 6 infielders)

  4. Pitcher must be changed after 4 walks in a single inning or 3 hit batters for the game

  5. Pitchers may pitch no more than 3 innings in a game and 6 innings in a week

  6. Stealing is permitted between 1B and 2B, and 2B and 3B only, once pitch crosses the plate

  7. Runner from third may not score on an overthrow on a stolen base (home must be earned)

  8. Double steals are not allowed

  9. Teams may only steal 4 times per inning

  10. Pitchers will pitch from 46 feet (bases remain at 60 feet)

  11. 5 run max per inning

  12. Run rules for 12 runs after 4 innings and 10 runs after 5 innings

  13. Bunting and tagging up are allowed  

  14. No dropped third strike or infield fly rule

  15. Universal lineup to be used for the regular season (not for playoffs)

  1. 10U rules apply with the following exceptions:
    1. Stealing of home is permitted

    2. Double steals are permitted

    3. No walk limit

    4. Infield fly is in effect

    5. No run limit per inning





 

 

Pitching Rules

 

Pitch Limits

  • Ages 6–8: 50 pitches/game

  • Ages 9–10: 75 pitches/game

  • Ages 11–12: 85 pitches/game

  • Ages 13–16: 95 pitches/game

 

Rest Requirements

  • 1–20 pitches: No rest

  • 21–35: 1 day rest

  • 36–50: 2 days rest

  • 51–65: 3 days rest

  • 66+: 4 days rest

Additional Rules

 

  • For 9U and older, official games are four innings.  If the home team is ahead and the away team has batted 4 times, the game is official.

  • Games that are suspended after 1 inning but before 4 innings (due to weather, darkness, or other reasons) are to be resumed at a later date.

  • Games called before the first inning is completed will be postponed and started from the beginning.

  • Season schedule will consist of 12 games, with a 10 game requirement for all divisions.

  • For 9U and older, teams may start a game with 8 players.  If a team knows it will be short players for a game, the manager may call up players from a younger division.

  • Teams must be able to field a team of 8 players within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time or be subject to a forfeit.

  • Games may be played under protest provided that the manager announces the protest before another pitch is thrown, and that the manager reports the protest to the league’s Umpire in Chief within 24 hours.

  • Sliding headfirst is strictly prohibited in all divisions (unless the runner is sliding back to a base on a pickoff attempt).

  • Players called up from younger divisions should play the outfield and hit last in the batting order.

  • Players must participate in at least 75% of their team’s little league games to maintain Rebels eligibility.
