Learn basic through advanced skating skills in our Galactic Ice Learn To Skate Program.  Our program is based on the Learn To Skate USA Programs that are used worldwide.  The programs have accepted standards and provide achievable objectives with immediate results.  Your initial skating level and class placement will be based upon your abilities when first entering the program and your advancement through severals levels of curriculum will be determined by established standards of performance for all maneuvers at all levels.  Advancement is based upon individualized evaluations, so you can learn at your own pace.

Learn to Skate Group Lessons:

• 30-minute lesson with a rated professional

• Snowplow Sam 1 - 4 is for children with no prior skating experiance. (Ages 3-6) These classes are designed to help children develop the ABC's of movement - Agility, Balance, Coordination, and Speed.
• Basic 1 - 6 teaches the FUNdamentals of skating and provides the best foundation for figure skating and hockey. (Age 7+) The levels introduce forward and backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, and turns. Upon completion of the Basic 1 - 6 levels, skaters will be able to confidently advance to more specialized areas of skating. 
• Pre/Free Skate 1 - 6 teaches a variety of progressive skating skills, transitions, spins, and jumps.
• Hockey 1 - 4 teaches skaters the basic hockey stance, stride, knee bend, use of edges and other necessary fundamentals to be successful in hockey practices and game situations. 
• Adults 1 - 6 helps to promote physical fitness and improve balance and coordination while teaching proper skating techniques.
• Power Skating is for the more advanced hockey skater.
  

Extra information:

• Cost is dependent on level. A $17.00 registration fee is due July 1 - June 30 of each year, per Learn to Skate USA. No Exceptions.
• Please arrive 15 minutes prior to class to allow plenty of time to get skates on, get your name badge stamped, and get organized.
• Wear comfortable layers with long sleeves and water repellent pants, (snow pants recommended for tiny tots), gloves or mittens.
• We have a limited amount of helmets. Bike helmets may be worn.
• No double runner blades.
• *Additional Family Members recieve a 50% discount. (Registration fee is still $17.00 per child)
