Little League Coaches
Coaches must be leaders. All must recognize that they hold a position of trust and responsibility in a program that deals with a sensitive and formative period of a child’s development.
It is required that the coach have understanding, patience and the capacity to work with children. The coach should be able to inspire respect. Above all else, coaches must realize that they are helping to shape the physical, mental and emotional development of young people.
Anyone interested in being a coach should be willing to undergo a screening process that does include a background check, as well as interviews with those with personal knowledge of your qualifications.
Coaches will hold practices weekly or two times per week and conduct games as scheduled by the league.
Coaches are also responsible for ensuring that their field is maintained (trash cans emptied regularly; litter removed from field, dugouts, stands, and surrounding areas; grass cut, drag infield with Gator, chalk lines on field for games, and report any other maintenance issues to the board of directors.)
