While you read through these updates, please keep in mind these changes were made with the intent of keeping the end-product of what the SC Lions organization has provided over the past 20 years the same.  Additionally, we are being proactive with these forward-looking changes to adapt to the ever-changing world of youth sports with respect to lower volunteerism and the workload required to pull off all of the offerings of the SC Lions organization each year.

As such, the following changes have been made;

1. The size of the SC Lions Board has been reduced from 11 members to 5 members to facilitate more efficient communication, voting and execution of other important Board member tasks and roles.  The current members are Mike Lukac, Kirsten Grove, Becky Freeman, Nic Yocum, and Eric Dare.
2. To help manage the Organization and programs amid the decline of volunteers, the 5-member Board approved the creation of a paid Executive Director position.  This position will provide Board oversight and perform many of the mundane tasks that are done behind the scenes in addition to absorbing all of the roles left vacant with the retirement of Coach Rob Johnson from the organization.
3. The Board unanimously elected Coach Jay as the Executive Director for the 2025 Season and recognize that he has a monumental task ahead of him, so the Board asks that all members of the Organization work together to help make this year just as successful as previous years.
4. As part of the reduction in Board members, we will ask some of the remaining Board members from last year to volunteer as Event Coordinators for offerings like Fundraising, Apparel sales, Homecoming Parade, Pictures, Concessions, etc.  The Board wants to thank those members for stepping up and helping to make this year successful.
