SC Lions Cheer is a recreational program meant to serve kindergarten thru 6th grade as an introduction to Gameday cheerleading fundamentals and an invitational competition squad (Pee Wee and Seniors only) which is comprised of evaluated and invited gameday cheerleaders.
-Camp Week in early August - Evaluations will be conducted at this time
-Games will be held on Sundays September-November
-Community events like State High Friday night football game and PSU if/when they become available

OPTIONS:
1. Gameday cheer: (Less Commitment requirements) All Levels
This option aligns with those that want a taste of cheerleading without the commitment a competitive team experience entails.
Fundamentals:
-stunting
-jumping
-motions
-cheer and chants for game time
-pom routines
2. Competition with Sideline Cheer: (More Commitment Requirements)
Pee Wee and Senior Division
This option encompasses Gameday cheer with the opportunity to be evaluated and selected for competition squad.

-Upper level stunting
-cheer and chants for game time
-Tumbling progression
-pyramid stunting
-choreography - both team and individual
-timing for routines
-complex pom dance routines
Practice
Cheer practices will be held at community parks and SCASD elementary gyms. Practice times and locations will vary by year and by squad based on our numbers and coaching staff availability.
Competition squads can continue to mid-January.
Uniforms
All cheerleaders will need to be fitted for uniforms. Each participant will be issued the following items that will need to be returned at the end of the season: Uniform (Shell and Skirt), Pom-poms, and a Warm-up Jacket. Gameday Bows are provided for each cheerleader to keep. Liners, briefs, socks, cheer specific sneakers, and competition bows are at cheerleader's expense.
A Sneaker Swap will be available during uniform distribution each summer.

Tumbling (cartwheels, round offs, forward rolls, etc)

Cheer (learned at camp)
Pom Routine (learned at camp)
PRIDE and "Be" Motto application during practices

Fees
Base fee for all cheerleaders at initial registration.
If invited to participate in the Competition, there will be an additional fee.
Please note: Our program has grown, in order to not have girls compete against each other, we will have 1 competition squad for Pee Wee and and one for Seniors. With risk management in mind, we aim to have a healthy balance of athletes to experienced coaches ratio on each team. This will vary depending upon the coaching staff and personnel.
