2020 Equipment Distribution Instructions for Parents

1. This is for tackle football players only.FLAG football and Cheerleaders do not need to come to equipment fitting.
2. Go to the www.sclions.com website and access the SIGN UP GENIUS link.Sign up your footballer for a time slot on one of the scheduled days.  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040C4CADAB2C7-2020
3. Make sure your footballer has a haircut indicative of what it will be length wise for the football season so that the helmet fitting process is done correctly.
4. Bring these instructions, a copy of your footballer’s Birth Certificate (first year in league only), and the updated waiver form with you to the equipment fitting.
5. DO NOT PARK AT THE SCIENCE PARK POOL!!!
6. Arrive to the LIFE Storage Facility at 757 Science Park Road approximately 5 minutes before your footballer’s scheduled fitting time and enter the main gate that should be open.If the main gate is closed for some reason, use the keypad outside the main gate and enter the code 54667* (LIONS*) and the main gate will open.If the gate is closed when you need to exit, this same code will work.
7. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY BE FITTING HELMETS THIS YEAR AT THE STORAGE FACILITY TO MINIMIZE CLOSE CONTACT.AS WE PROGRESS DURING THE SEASON IN PHASES, WE WILL FIT THE REST OF THE PLAYERS WITH EQUIPMENT AS EACH MILESTIONE IS ACHIEVED.
8. DO NOT PARK AT THE SCIENCE PARK POOL!!! (this second message is on purpose lol)
9. Once inside the main gate, there is a large portion of the parking lot immediately to the right where you should park your car parallel to the storage building.Please leave a good amount of room between your car and the car in front of you for ease of exiting.DO NOT DRIVE YOUR CAR back to the fitting area because there will be pedestrian traffic at all times.
10. Follow the “SC LIONS” signs and walk to the back of the facility for the Helmet only fitting.
11. We will practice as much social distancing as possible during this process since many players will be fitted each session.
    1. To make it as quick but effective as possible, each footballer will first have their head measured to determine the initial expected helmet size.Then, each player will be fit tested for proper fit with the helmet since this is so critical.
    2. The Coach performing the testing will wear a mask and change gloves/sanitize their hands before the next player fitting.
    3. If a helmet is tried for fit but does not fit correctly for that player, it will removed and sanitized before the next player tries it on for fit.This is to minimize the potential social contact footprint.
12. Your footballer will receive the following items;
    1. Mouthpiece (instructions for proper forming included)
    2. Properly fitted Helmet and chin strap (but many purchase their own chin straps at Dick’s Sporting goods)
13. Before you leave……
    1. make sure you put your footballers LAST NAME in capital letters on the DUCT tape provided and place on the FRONT of their helmet.
    2. turn in any Birth Certificates or COVID Waiver forms to an SC Lions Rep.
    3. ask for any handouts from either Coach Jay or Coach Rob.
14. Since we have a busy equipment fitting schedule, please carefully exit the facility once your football has been fitted with their equipment to keep the parking area decongested.
15. You will receive another communication that details when the season will start and the general plan we will follow at practices and for the progression of the season.
