Tourney Rules
10U & 12U – 8u rules below

General Rules:
1. Entry fee must be paid in full before playing.
2. Each game will be 6 innings in length. It is a legal game after the losing team has batted in the 4th inning.
3. Only 9 players play on the field at a time (12u). Only 10 players play on the field at a time (10u).
4. The game will end after 2 hours from the scheduled start time of the game if 6 innings is not reached first..
5. The 15 run rule applies after the losing team has batted in the fourth inning. The game will end.
6. Each player must play at least two innings per game in the field.
7. No metal spikes allowed
8. Base paths are 60’ Pitching distance is 46’
9. Home team will be decided by a coin toss prior to the start of the game. The umpire will choose
the team who calls it in the air.
10. Coaches on the Field
8u - 1 pitch & 2 defensive in outfield grass - 3 total
10u - No coaches on the field
12u - No coaches on the field
11. Age eligibility: May 1st deadline for all levels, players age on May 1st is considered their tournament age.
12. Ground rules are to be discussed with the umpire and opposing coach before each game.
13. Open substitutions on defense at coach’s discretion.
14. 8 players is the required minimum to be on the field all times
15. Bats allowed up to 2 ¼” diameter and -12.
Batting:
1. Batting for a half inning will be deemed over as soon as the fielding teams records three outs.
2. All players will bat before the first batter bats for a 2nd time. Batting line ups will stay the same through the game.
3. Each batter and runner must wear a helmet with both ear guards.
4. The batter is automatically out on the third strike, even if the catcher drops the ball.
5. Thrown Bats: There will be one warning per team, after that a thrown bat is an automatic out. (Umpires decision)
6. Infield fly rule will be in effect with runners on 1st & 2nd or 1st, 2nd & 3rd and less than two outs - the umpire will make the call.
7. If a player is injured and cannot continue to play his spot in the lineup will be skipped over, essentially moving everyone up one spot. However, if the lineup drops to 8 batters the players spot in the lineup which was vacated due to injury becomes an automatic out. Players who miss an at-bat due to injury may not re-enter the game.
8. Bunting is allowed. Once the offer has been made to bunt, the player cannot pull it back and swing away. Doing so will result in an out.
Baserunners:
1. Stealing: Is allowed to all bases, base-runners must remain on the base until the ball has passed the plate, they may then steal.
2. If the umpire sees a base-runner leaving early he will call "NO PITCH". Each team will receive one warning per game for leaving early. The next player from that team that leaves early will be called out.
3 Players Must Slide on any close play to avoid a collision. Fielders may not block a base or base
path.
4. Any Over-throw that goes out of bounds runners may advance to the base plus 1 base.
5. No head first sliding allowed at any base except when returning from a secondary lead. Runner will automatically be called out.
6. When stealing, runners must maintain motion towards home plate. If attempting to steal home on a ball controlled by the catcher, the runner must return to third base once the motion towards home has stopped. Runners can only advance if the fielding team makes a play in the field or an overthrow from the catcher to the pitcher occurs.
Pitching:
1. Each player on the roster is eligible to pitch 15 innings during the tournament. One pitch counts as one inning. Once a pitcher is removed from the mound, they cannot re-enter as a pitcher in the same game.
2. NO balks will be called against the pitcher.
3. Pitching distance is 46’.
4. Coaches may make 1 trip to the mound per inning. A second trip in the same inning requires the pitcher to be removed from the game.
Umpires:
1. Umpires will have complete authority at the field and final word on all disputes. The umpires may ask a player/coach or fan to leave the game or field after one warning if they feel these measures are necessary.
2. Umpires and Coaches will confer on bad weather as to waiting the storm out or canceling at that time. Safety is the number 1 factor. Umpires have the final say. In the case of Thunder & Lightning, the 30-minute rule applies.

Batting: No bunting is allowed. Each batter will receive 7 pitches or 3 swinging strikes whichever comes first. A foul ball on the 7th pitch will result in another pitch. This will continue as long as the batter continues to foul of the pitches. If the ball is not put into play after 7 pitches or 3 swinging strikes, the batter is out.
Baserunning:
- No stealing / No leading
- One base is awarded on overthrow of first base
- One base is awarded on a dead ball
- If ball remains in play, runners are allowed to advance until ball is thrown to circle or an out is made
- Hash marks are to be placed between 1st and 2nd, 2nd and 3rd, 3rd and home. If not beyond the halfway mark, all runners must go back to the previous base.
- No advancement when catchers overthrows the pitcher during an at-bat
