Long Island Soccer Coach Stephanie S.
Stephanie Scalesse has played for various Long Island Soccer Teams, beginning her soccer career with East Islip Soccer club from 1995-2004 and moving to the Rockville Centre Royals from 2004-2008. Stephanie played for the East Islip Women's Varsity team from 2004-2008, being named Captain for her Senior year. Stephanie furthered her soccer career during this time period by participating in the ODP program from 2001-2008, traveling with the Select team internationally to Holland, Belgium, and Germany to receive training and play local competitive teams for two weeks. She played for the Lady Rough Riders and Long Island Rough Riders youth teams from 2003-2006. Following her soccer passion she also played with the Score FC Team with her older sister Meghan Verdino, who was an East Islip grad and a SUNY Geneseo Graduate as well.
Stephanie then moved on to playing at the intercollegiate level for SUNY Geneseo from 2009 to 2012, where she was a part of winning the SUNYAC title in 2009 and making it to the first round of NCAA championship. Stephanie was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) from 2010-2012, being named the Vice President her Junior-Senior Year. Stephanie was also given the honor of being captain of the Women's Team at Geneseo for the 2011-2012 season.
Following the completion of her soccer career at Geneseo, Stephanie received her Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from Adelphi University. She continued to grow her knowledge of soccer through completing the NSCAA Level 3 diploma, obtaining her "C" and "D" licenses. She has developed her coaching abilities through training a U9 girls team for a summer season and assisting Alvaro and Ernesto Phan with the Score FC Boys team during their winter training in 2013 and 2014. Stephanie began training the North Babylon Pride Girls team in the Summer of 2013, being named the head coach in 2015 and transitioning the team into the Score family. Currently, Stephanie is a Score FC trainer and expanding her knowledge and experience in coaching youth soccer.
