Ginny (Jernigan) Hughes - RedStix Program Co-Director & Co-Founder
  • High School Coaching Experience:
    • McIntosh High School Girl’s Varsity Lacrosse, Peachtree City, GA, 5 years.
      • In her first three years in GA, the McIntosh H.S. Girls Lax program has more than doubled in size (from 32 to 65+) to become the largest high school program in Georgia.
      • McIntosh H.S. Varsity team made it to the 3rd round of the state tournament, as a "Final 4" team, in 2019.
    • Birmingham United Girl's Varsity Lacrosse, Birmingham, MI, 14 years.
      • 4 MHSAA Div. 1 State Championships (‘07, ’08, ’09 and ‘12).
      • 2 MHSAA Div. 1 State Runner-Up Finishes (‘03 and ‘16).
      • Coached the 2008 “Ms Lacrosse” player -- awarded to Ginny's goalie prodigy as the top female lacrosse player for the entire state of Michigan.
      • 14 seasons of team GPA exceeding 3.75 (2013 team GPA exceeded 4.0).
      • Coached numerous All-American & Academic All-Americans as well as dozens of All-Conference players
  • College Coaching Experience:
    • University of Michigan Club-Varsity Women's Lacrosse, Ann Arbor, MI, 5 years.
      • National Tournament 4 out of 5 years - 4th place finish in 2012.
      • #1 National Ranking for most of 2012 season.
      • Coached numerous All-American & Academic All-Americans as well as a dozen All-Conference players
  • Playing Experience:
    • Washington & Lee University, Lexington, VA, 2000.
      • 1999 Pre-season All-American goalie (tore ACL and didn't complete season).
      • Lacrosse team finished in the top 25 all four years.
      • Eight-time varsity letter winner (lacrosse and soccer).
      • 2-time Team Captain (lacrosse and soccer).
    • Dr Philips High School (DPHS), Orlando, FL, 1992-1996
      • DPHS most decorated female-athlete of all time.
      • 1996 FHSAA (Florida H.S. Activities Association) Statewide Scholar-Athlete of the Year
      • 1996 DPHS Female Athlete of the Year
      • 1996 DPHS Scholar-Athlete of the Year
      • 12 time varsity letter winner (4 soccer, 4 volleyball and 4 softball).
      • All-Conference and All-District (soccer, volleyball and softball).
      • All-State (volleyball).
      • Started every game all 4 years, on varsity, in all 3 sports.
      • 7 time team captain (2 soccer, 3 volleyball and 2 softball).
      • Inducted into the Metro Conference Hall of Fame
      • Inducted into the DPHS Hall of Fame

    • Masters of Mechanical Engineering, Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, 2002
      • Biomedical Option through Wake Forest University

      • All-ODAC Conference Academic Award winner (1997-2000)

  • Professional Experience (2002-2010):
    • Worked as a biomedical safety engineer at GM for 2 years; responsible for occupant safety performance in multiple GM vehicles
    • Worked as an airbag engineer at GM for 6 years; responsible for design, implementation, performance & integration of numerous airbag systems in GM vehicles
