Machine Pitch: This is our division for players who are “league ages 5-6” who have advanced past Tee Ball, but aren't quite ready for our hardball divisions yet. (5 year-old players must have 1 year of Tee Ball experience and be approved by the Board of Directors to play Machine Pitch. ("League age" is the player's age on August 31, 2024.)
We encourage all 7 year-old players to participate in Player Evaluations before making a decision to play Machine Pitch.
This program is more advanced than Tee Ball. Outs are recorded and runs are scored during games. No final score is kept. This is a developmental division of play for future baseball and softball players. Players learn more of the rules of the game and develop more skills. Players will hit off of pitches from a machine. Balls used are softer than baseballs.
All practices will take place at Live Oak Park. Practice days and times depend on the manager of each team and space available at Live Oak Park. Teams usually practice 1 to 2 times a week before games begin. Practice time slots are typically in the late afternoon/early evening (between 4:30 and 6:00), and last about an hour. Once games begin practices are usually reduced to 1 or 0, depending on the manager's preference.
Games are around 1 hour. Games are typically played on a specific weekday (has been Wednesday in the past few seasons) and on Saturdays. Weekday games begin at 5:00 or 6:15. Saturday game times can vary. Most games are played at Live Oak Park. Some games may be played at other Little Leagues in the local area.
Most playing requests (Teammates and Managers) are accommodated. Be sure to make these requests when you register.
