Game Rules

 All Divisions – All Season

1. Equal playing time
   
   >  Six quarters – 6 minutes each.
   
   >  Use a player rotation chart to keep track of substitutions
   
   >  Number players before the game so equal abilities play together
   
   
2. Player to player defense
   
   >  Wrist bands for all divisions
   
   >  No double teaming

Rule Variations by Division

 Pressing:

  K/1 Division –

>  Teams retreat to the Key at the start of each possession and wait for the offense to cross half court before picking up players

  2/3 Division –

>  Teams retreat to half court at the start of each possession for games 1 - 8

  4/5 Division –

>  Teams retreat to half court at the start of each possession for games 1 – 4

>  Games 6 – 8 - coaches decide at the start of the game whether to introduce full court defense after the first half. 

 Stealing:

K/1 Division –

>  No stealing off of pass or dribble all season

2/3 Division –

>  No stealing off of dribble all season

>  Stealing off of a pass IS allowed in all games

4/5 Division –

>  Stealing off the dribble IS allowed in games 7 and 8 only. 

>  Stealing off of a pass IS allowed in games.

The goal of Give and Go is to support the growth of ALL players.  Rules for stealing and pressing should be 
monitored based on the ability of ALL players on the court with the focus of teamwork, sportsmanship 
and friendship at the core of these decisions.
