The 2024 season registration is open through February 23, 2024.

Caldwell-West Essex Little League has many options to play and learn the game. Various experience levels are welcomed . Please follow the Little League Age Chart for birthday cut offs to define a player's age.

T BALL (BASEBALL) - Pre-K & K
T Ball is for ages 6 and under. Players will learn the basics and hit off a tee. It is an introduction to baseball and team play with a focus on teamwork and sportsmanship.

COACH PITCH (BASEBALL and SOFTBALL) - 1st & 2nd Grade
Coach pitch is for ages 7 & 8. Additional elements of the games are added as players start to see live pitching from coaches. Again to learn the game.The coaches pitch to the players at this level. Players field positions and will develop catching and throwing skills. They will run the bases, get thrown out, catch pop flies, etc.

MINOR PLAYER PITCH (BASEBALL and SOFTBALL) 3rd & 4th Grade
Player Pitch is for ages 9 & 10. The element of players and teams learning how to pitch. This really starts to give players a more structured "feel" for a ball game. At this stage, players develop strike zone understanding, stronger fielding, and most aspects of a ballgame.

MAJOR (BASEBALL and SOFTBALL) 5th & 6th Grade
Ages 11 & 12. All elements of the game are now part of the game and players compete with other Little League teams from our region. This is the next big leap for player development. This level is very competitive as the players start to pitch faster and in some cases throw variations of pitches. Batters hit the ball harder and we see exciting plays and fielding. Home runs and double-plays and so much more. 

The following is information regarding each program we offer.  All dates and times are subject to review and coordination with local towns, board of educations and recreation departments scheduled usage. A majority of our activities will occur in Caldwell, West Caldwell and Roseland.  

Players will have practices and clinics to learn the game and many games across a season ending no later than the end of June to ensure time for family vacations. 

Tee Ball Program
