HAA Guidelines 2020 for safe play during the Green Phase

- Every family will sign/agree to the COVID-19 waiver.
- Each Diamond is managed to not exceed gatherings of 90.
- It is recommended 2 spectators for each Coach/Player
- All players and spectators must adhere to the 6-foot physical distancing guidelines while at the fields.
- It is recommended that face coverings be worn in close contact areas where social distancing is difficult to maintain
- Face coverings are not mandatory for athletes, but players are allowed to wear face coverings and gloves if they choose, as long as the items do not compromise the safety of any and all participants in the game
- Teams, players, coaches should refrain from handshakes, high fives, fist/elbow bumps, chest bumps, group celebrations, etc
- No Team Meetings before, during or after the practice/game
- In dugouts, no shared drinks or food. No shared coolers
- Allow Teams to spread players out

- For the Team on Offense: The 3 players in the batting order due up that inning and 1 coach will be in the dugout. The other 2 coaches will be at 1st and 3rd base coaching positions. The remaining players will need to be outside the dugout in the open spaces behind or beside the dugout and socially distanced. It is our recommendation that each team have a parent/coach delegated to monitoring those players outside the dugout for social distancing and to monitor and maintain the flow into and out of the dugouts.  The Coach in the dugout will retrieve the bat from the Home plate area. Neither the umpire nor the catcher will pick it up.

- For the Team on Defense:
Usually the whole team is on the field with 1 or 2 players and 3 coaches on the bench.  Coaches will watch to maintain social distancing.

- Parents/Guardians that bring their own chairs to observe, which is the norm, will be required to maintain the standard 6-foot distance between chairs/family unit.
- No sitting on bleachers.
- Antibacterial wipes and hand sanitizer will be supplied by the HAA to each team in order to disinfect shared playing equipment and cleaning hands between innings.
- Upon arriving at a dugout for the first time, teams are to disinfect hard surface areas.
- Teams are to clean their dugout of all trash and other items after each practice/game, and to wipe down (disinfect) hard surfaces.
- Players' items (bat bags etc) should be lined up against a fence at least 6 feet apart.
- Players should use their own gloves, helmets, and bats as much as possible.
- Coaches are responsible for ensuring social distancing is maintained between players as much as possible. This means additional spacing between players while playing catch, changing drills so that players remain spaced out, no congregating of players while waiting to bat.
- The manager's pre-game meeting at home plate should be limited to 1 coach from each team plus the umpire. No players at the pre-game meeting.
- Spectators must not enter the player areas.
- Fans and players must leave the playing area and return to their cars immediately after their practice/game. No sticking around to watch another team play.
- Keep social distancing between teams in effect beyond the field of play. In the event of inclement weather, including but not limited to rain delay, no one can congregate under tents, or the pavilion in the near proximity of other gatherings or heavy foot traffic. Social and mass gatherings guidelines must be maintained at all times.
- As much as possible Games and practices will be scheduled with a 20-minute buffer between to prevent the overlap of participants.  Start times at each field will be staggered.
- Fans for upcoming games must remain in their cars or away from the warmup/playing areas during player warmups.  They will be permitted to come to the field once their team enters the dugout area.
- The Concession be open. (No prepared foods will be offered)
- Balls are disinfected before and after every game and practice.
- No sunflower seeds, shell nuts, gum, or similar products.
- Follow all local and state guidelines.
- Any person who is experiencing symptoms will be prohibited from attending the practice/game, and Coaches will ask players who show signs of illness to go home.
