How To Get Involved:
Coaching Opportunities:
HAA is focused on providing a quality experience for our players not only by developing their skills as a player, but also encouraging growth as a player, teammate and member of the community. The success of HAA in delivering this experience relies on its Members (Families of Players) to volunteer in a number of ways. If you have any questions about getting involved with the organization, please reach out to ANY of our Board Members, we will be happy to help. Volunteer roles consist of the following…
- Head Coach/Manager: Head Coaches/Managers are responsible for the overall organization of an assigned team, creating game day line-ups, leading practices, in game management and assigning coaching responsibilities to other members of the coaching staff. The Head Coach/Manager will also be responsible for any team communication to the families of the players, Assistant Coaches, as well as the other Head Coaches/Managers in the league and the appropriate VP or Board Members.
- Assistant Coach: Assistant Coaches will support the Head Coach/Manager in any of the above-mentioned responsibilities. Typically, each team needs more than one Assistant Manager to cover both practice and in-game roles.
- Parent Volunteer: Inevitably, with scheduling conflicts, a team may need additional volunteers at times during the season. As an “unofficial coach” Parent Volunteer, it is very helpful to offer assistance when a team may need it, whether that is during practice or a game. Being prepared to jump in if needed can help provide the experience HAA strives to for each player and their family. This can be especially useful for our lower age groups that typically can benefit from more
Clearance Requirements:
All Parent Roles above require Volunteer Clearances to be on file with HAA, prior to participating as a Coach/Parent Volunteer. Please see the link below for the “Volunteer Clearances” section of our site for additional details on how to ensure you are prepared to help…

Coaching Expectations For New & Existing Coaches
Team Communication:
Coaches have the responsibility to communicate throughout the season with the families of their players. HAA uses the Game Changer App and the HAA Website. All families should be provided these resources at the beginning of the season in an introduction email from the Head Coach/Manager, to ensure communication is easy on you as the Coach. Game Changer features a chat function and the ability to add coach comments with any schedule changes. Any changes to the posted schedule should be sent out as soon as possible to the entire team.
Field Maintenance:
We are fortunate to have use of top-level facilities as a community. Our organization works hard to maintain the playing surfaces and surrounding areas so that all players and spectators can enjoy them. Both Home Teams and Away Teams have gameday responsibilities in set up and clean up of the fields and dugouts. After practices, fields should be returned to the appropriate conditions. Detailed instructions can be found below in our Field Maintenance Guides…
