Western Little League is built on community support. You don’t need to know baseball to make a real difference, just a willingness to help. Whether it’s once a season or once a week, every effort counts.
Here are just a few ways you can pitch in:
- Volunteer at the snack bar for 1 to 2 hours, just 2 or 3 times a season. It keeps the league running and the kids fueled.
- Pick up drinks or snacks like Gatorade, bottled water, chips, or candy on your regular grocery run to donate to the snack bar.
- Help run the scoreboard during a game. We’ll provide quick, easy training beforehand.
- Bring a trash bag and do a quick sweep of the stands or dugout areas after your child’s game or practice.
- Ask your workplace or a local business if they’d like to sponsor a team, donate supplies, or advertise on a field banner.
- Learn how to score keep using the GameChanger app, which is Western's primary form of not only scorekeeping, but practice scheduling and communication - taking an active role in learning how to do this can be extremely helpful so that this responsibility doesn't just fall on 1 or 2 people throughout the entire season.
- Share league fundraisers with friends and family or contribute when you can. Every dollar helps.
- Lend a hand with setup or cleanup like carrying equipment, setting up tents, or helping break things down after a tournament.
- Offer to help your coach or team parent with communication, like sharing reminders, coordinating snacks, or managing the GameChanger app.
- Step in when you can whether it’s passing out snacks, calming a sideline sibling, or grabbing an extra trash bag.
If you're ready to show your kid that you're investing in the league that is building a community where we're fostering a love for the game of baseball, there's a place for you here - get involved now!
