Western Albemarle is a non-profit, USA Football certified program for boys and girls primarily in grades 7th and 8th.

OUR MISSION: To create a fun and safe learning environment for youth to compete as a team while exploring individual achievement
Scott Jake Jacobsen. Has been involved as a coach of this team in this league for 15 years.  He has been involved in football his entire life and loves the real life lessons this sport teaches.

Brian Mcginn grew up playing and coaching football at the Jersey Shore. He has coached youth sports in Crozet for nearly a decade. 2022 will be his second full season with the Western Warriors.

Chris Spillman is the Managing Director for Biztech Lawyers in the Americas. He played quarterback at his high school in Virginia Beach, and he's also coached flag football for many years and seasons, at one point coaching across from Aaron Boone (now of the Yankees). 2022 fall season will be his first year coaching a tackle team!

JDYFL Program changes slightly year to year, below are details from prior years to help provided general idea of what to expect. There are about 9 leagues including Albemarle, Augusta, Charlottesville, Fluvanna, Orange, Greene, Monticello, Rockingham and Western Albemarle. More information about the District can be found here:

Pre-Season Conditioning: This is typically the 2 weeks prior to school starting, on Monday - Thursday at Henley Middle School from 5-7pm. This is not required, but recommended. All participants must have 10hrs of conditioning before tackling is permitted.

Practices: Once school starts, practices are Monday-Wednesday from 6-8pm at Western Albemarle High School. On Saturdays from 8-10am is 'Walk-Thru' which includes conditioning (no pads or equipment used) and game review and preparation.

Games: There are about 8 games per season with one bi-week, usually held on Sundays. The first game is normally mid-September.

REGISTRATION: To submit a registration, click on the button in the upper right corner of this site to get started! Welcome Warriors!
