Baseball Kid Pitch Skills Day

Hello RDLL Families,

We wanted to pass along the current details regarding the Kid Pitch Baseball Skills Day on February 11th

SkillsDay Information:
Safety is the #1 concern for all players, volunteers and spectating families.

  • We will require that all players, volunteers and spectators wear a mask to comply with the Seattle Parks Reservation Guidelines.
  • If you, or your player are sick or show any Covid symptoms, we ask that you not attend.
  • In order to maintain a safe environment, parents will not be allowed on the field.

When: Saturday, February 11th, (see time slots below)

Where: Brighton Playfield 1 and 2  located at 6000 39th Ave South (North of Aki Kurose Middle School).

The check-in tents will be set up on the west side of Brighton Playfield #1 (third base line).

Skills Day is only for players planning to participate in our Kid Pitch Baseball Divisions  - Rookies, Minors, and Majors. Tball, TnToss, Coach Pitch, Softball, and 50/70/Juniors players do NOT need to attend SkillsDay

  • You must be registered in order to participate in Skills Day. Please register before you come out to Skills Day.
  • There are three time slots divided by Little League Age Groups (i.e. Players Age on August 31, 2023):
    • 10AM-11:00AM – 8-9 years old
    • 11:00AM-12:00PM – 10-11 years old
    • 12:30PM-1:30PM – 12 year old
    • 3:00PM-4:00PM all
  • Players do not need to be there for the entire one time slot.
  • Players will work through warm-up, fielding/throwing, and hitting stations. Depending on the number of people there, it should take 20-30 minutes to work through all the stations.  You can show up anytime during your one and a half hour window.
  • Players will only need to bring their gloves, bat and helmet. If you do not have a helmet or bat, the league will have some available on site for the skills day.
  • Skills Day is MANDATORY for all players in our Kid Pitch Baseball Divisions - RookiesMinors, and Majors as it helps us to form balanced teams.  if players are not able to make Saturday's skills day we will have a make up February 16th from 6:00PM-7:15PM
  • This will be a rain-or-shine event.  We have intentionally reserved a turf field so that we are weather resistant.  As long as conditions are safe to play, we will hold Skills Day.

Finally, we are still in need of volunteers to help run SkillsDay.  We have volunteer roles for anyone.  This would be a great opportunity for any teens that need to log some volunteer community hours.  Please reach out to [email protected] if you are interested.
