2026 SPRING SEASON Registration information:

Early Bird Registration of a $25 discount runs through February 15th. Divisions will close when they are full. The season generally runs from mid-March through the end of May. Players that make the District All-Star Tournament teams in each division (Rookies and older) will continue playing into June.

2026 SPRING SEASON Programs:

Quickball  -  4-6 years old (1/1/2021 thru 12/31/2019) - USA Quickball is a structured program that LYA Softball has implemented in place of tee ball.  Quickball is designed for first year softball players and the goal is to provide a positive experience at a young age that will help young players and their families fall in love with the greatest game ever created! Quickball is based on fundamentals, hustle, action, teamwork, and having fun! Quickball grabs the attention of young players and lets them learn without being bored or intimidated. The program also provides a coaching guide and resources that make it clear and easy for parent volunteers to participate.  Aside from wearing comfortable clothing and sneakers, no softball equipment is needed for this division. All participants will receive their own Quickball bat and ball. Please watch this video for an overview of the Quickball program.

**Quickball Commissioner Needed** Training will be provided. Please contact Melissa Esposito at [email protected] with interest.**

Rookies - 6-8 years old (1/1/2019 thru 12/31/2017) - The Rookies program is designed for experienced 6 year and through 8 year olds.  We have been instituting clinic style practices in our Rookies program which concentrate on the fundamentals of softball.  Besides throwing, catching, hitting, base running and pitching, our goal is to help girls fall in love with the great game of softball. The Rookies program starts with coach pitch and moves to player pitch near the end of the season. The teams finish off the season with a fun week of in-house playoffs. The Rookies program includes a postseason District all-star tournament against other area rookie softball teams.

Minors – 9-10 years old (1/1/2016 thru 12/31/2015) - The Minors program has also been using clinic style practices with much success. Players do the pitching, with a modified "coach-pitch" rule that allows coaches to step in and pitch in lieu of batters reaching base via a "base on balls" (walk). The Minors division holds preseason evaluations in order to keep in-house teams competitively balanced.  The Minors division offers an end of season in-house playoffs, a playoff tournament with other area teams, and a District all-star tournament team.

Majors – 11-12 years old (1/1/2014 thru 12/31/2013) - The Majors program is the pinnacle of Little League Softball with increased pitching distance, more competitive rules, and a faster game.  The Majors division holds preseason evaluations in order to keep in-house teams competitively balanced. The Majors division offers an end of season in-house playoffs, a playoff tournament with other area teams, and a District all-star tournament team.

Junior/Senior – 13-16 years old (1/1/2012 thru 12/31/2009) - This is a player's first opportunity to play on a high school dimension softball field with traditional softball rules.  Players have the opportunity to continue playing as All-Stars in post-season tournaments.

Evaluations - LYA Softball runs a skills evaluation for the MINORS and MAJORS divisions ONLY at All Star Sports Academy in Downingtown. All players registered in the Minors and Majors divisions should plan to attend the evaluations. This assessment helps the coaches create fair and balanced teams. Players registered for the Quickball, Rookies, and the Jr/Sr divisions should not attend the skills evaluations.

It will be held on Saturday, February 28th, 2026.

MAJORS skills evaluations: 2:30-3:30pm (All players)

MINORS skills evaluations: 2:30-3:30pm OR 3:30-4:30pm

**Players that want to “play up” MUST attend our evaluations on February 28th, regardless of division.  Examples: Rookies aged player wishing to be considered for Minors or Minors aged player wishing to be considered for Majors. Please contact Melissa Esposito at [email protected] if you want your daughter to play at a higher level than her age.**

Questions about our league boundaries?
LYA and GEYA Little League have a combined charter for girls’ softball. This means that any girl who lives or goes to school within the boundaries for either LYA or GEYA are automatically part of the combined program.  Please enter your residential or school address into the Official Little League Finder website or contact Melissa Esposito at [email protected]

NEW AS OF 2025:  Players ages 4-7 are allowed to register with LYA with no residential or school enrollment requirements. Little League International is taking over registration going forward. As a result, registration will go through SportsConnect and team schedules will be on GameChanger. This initiative is called Central Registration and more information can be found on their website (https://www.littleleague.org/playing-rules/2025-regulation-2-update/).
