The subsequent sessions will be held outside at Exton Little League Meadowbrook Manor Park (Mall side entrance – use 674 Exton Commons, Exton PA 19341 for reference) weather permitting. All info will be communicated through TeamSnap. ** New trainees are expected to attend as many sessions as possible to help ensure their success on the field during the season. **

2nd – 6th Sessions: February 15th, 22nd, March 1st, 8th, 15th – 12-1pm Exton LL Meadowbrook Manor @ Exton Commons
Additional Training opportunities: If you would like supplemental training, the District 28 Umpires will host two umpire training sessions this year. You are welcome to attend one of those, also. The same material will be repeated in each session. They are free to attend and will be held at KAU’s indoor facility – Sinton Field Fieldhouse at 299 Leslie Rd, Kennett Square PA 19348. It is not required for you to attend these clinics in order to be an LYA Softball Umpire, but they are a good source of extra information and training.
The clinic dates hosted by the District 28 Umpires are:
Saturday, January 24th 12-2pm
Saturday, January 31st 1-3pm
Age Requirement: Must be 13 years old or older. Adults always welcome.
Registration: TeamSnap :: Lionville Youth Association - LYA ::
Time Commitment & Scheduling during season: LYA Softball games start by April 1st and games will run through the first week of June. A schedule of available games will be posted in TeamSnap every two weeks. You will mark every game you would like to work. Then, our umpire assignor will assign two umpires to each game and will communicate once the assignments have been made. Two umpires will be assigned to every game at either the plate or in the field. You are welcome to work as much as your schedule allows.
Pay: You will be paid for the games you worked every other Friday via Venmo. Rates are set between $30-$50 and are dependent on the job you worked and experience level; i.e. plate, field, division of softball game, etc.
Uniform: After a few training sessions, LYA will provide each Junior Umpire that intends to work the season with a uniform shirt and hat. To complete your uniform, you will need to provide and wear your own grey colored umpire uniform pants (no sweats or leggings) and dark colored shoes (no cleats).
