Challenger baseball is organized little league baseball for special needs players with physical and or developmental disabilities and is open to Girls and Boys 5 years old (as of January 1st of each season) and up.  The Livermore Little League currently has one "junior team" which consists of kids from 5 to 17 years of age.  At 15 players are eligible to move up to "senior teams" which are typically made up of players from 17+ (no age limit).  Our league does not currently have a senior team but plan to start a senior team if interested players join or as our current players age.  Our league boundaries are roughly the areas of Livermore, East of Livermore Ave and North of Portola Ave/North Canyons.  Players living outside this area but attending a school within the area are still eligible to play within our league.  Exceptions can be made for players whose home league does not have space available on a team.

Registration for the season typically takes place in October/November.  Our opening day celebration is typically in February with the regular challenger season running from late March to the beginning of June.  Most games are typically played in Dublin on Sunday afternoons at 1:30 PM where we play other Tri-Valley (District 57) teams.  However, we hope to have a few home games in coming seasons.  Games are two innings long, with each player hitting and running (no outs).  On game days each of our players is paired up with a "neuro-typical" little league buddy (usually our buddies are from the Majors or Intermediate levels) who helps guide players.  Challenger only has a spring team, no fall season team is being formed.
