Our Opening Day is scheduled for tomorrow. Here is some important information you should know:
Opening Ceremonies:
We
are very excited to get our games started! Our
Opening Ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m. Please
have your players there no later than 9:45 in full uniforms. Players
should wear full uniforms to the ceremony, and will sit with their teams
out on the baseball field. There will be softball games going on at
the same time, so parking near the field will be at a premium. We will
be celebrating 65 years as a league! We will have some
special guests in attendance, have a flag ceremony, introduce our teams,
draw raffle tickets
for player prizes, alumni prizes, recognize former league presidents,
and hope to have a large 50/50 prize at the end. We expect the
ceremonies to last a little over an hour. We
have a full day of games on the diamond right after the ceremonies, so
stick around
and catch some of the action.
IN THE EVENT OF RAIN: There is a slight chance that Mother
Nature might rain down on Temple City this weekend. We will be having
Opening Ceremonies, rain or shine. In the event of rain, we will move
our ceremonies indoors:
The
indoor location is about a 5 minute drive from our field, inside the
church at 150 West Duarte Road, Arcadia, CA 91007. It is on the south
side of the street across from Arcadia High School. In the event we have the ceremonies indoors, we ask that you not bring any food or drink inside.
We
will begin a few minutes after 10:00 to allow for anyone who showed up
at the baseball diamond. There
will still be prizes for players, introductions of the teams, special
invited guests, recognition of our alumni, a big 50/50, and league items
for purchase! The only
thing might be missing will be the games played afterward. Depending on
the extent of the rain, we may wait to cancel games later in the day.
We
will send out an email and post on our league website and Facebook page
by early Saturday morning if we are moving indoors. We will ask Team
Moms and Managers to communicate this information to their teams as
well. Please check
before you head out to know where you need to go.
Please share this information with any alumni you know are planning to attend.
We hope for good weather and a great start to our season!
