Hello South Elgin Baseball and Softball Families,
I wanted to provide some info on the upcoming season as registration is open. The fees are as follows per division. Please note all players need to be signed up for their age appropriate division. There will be drafts to determine teams at all divisions except Coach Pitch and Tee-ball. The draft format will be decided upon at our next board meeting in January with input from the VP’s at each division on how to handle that to make the teams fair and competitive for all while focusing on development for all players in the league.
Baseball:
Tee Ball (ages 4-6): $155
Coach Pitch (ages 6-8): $155
Minors (9-11): $240
Majors (9-12): $265
Intermediate (11-13):$265
Juniors (13-15): $265
Seniors (14-16): $240
Softball
Minor B (6-8): $155
Minor A (8-10): $240
Majors (10-12): $265
There will be a mandatory volunteer fee that will need to be paid up front. The fee is $125 per family. In order to receive a refund every family is asked to volunteer 6 hours of their time throughout the season. Our league is all volunteer based and we need help in many areas such as concessions, field help, team parents, etc.. More info will be available at evaluations to find out how you can be of service to our league. All contributions are appreciated and necessary to the success of our league. If you simply cannot give some of your time to the league, we understand but there will be no refunds for families who choose not to volunteer. We are setting up a tracking system to keep all hours served logged. Once the 6 hours are completed you will receive your $125 back from SELL.
Registration opened 12/1. There will be an early bird discount of $20 if you register before 12/31. We also offer a multi-player discount for families with more than 1 player of $20 per extra player registered.
This year we will continue to have a code of conduct form for all parents and players to sign. These will be distributed at evaluations and before the season starts. The reason behind this is we seek to provide a culture of sportsmanship, honesty and integrity as we as the adults are meant to be role models for our kids as we teach them to love and appreciate this game and the lifelong friendships and experiences that it can provide. We want everyone on the same page as we all represent South Elgin Little League and want to show who we are with respect and understanding for all our teammates, opponents, umpires, families, etc...
Please keep your eyes open for updates about important dates over the off-season. As I receive information from the District over the next few months I will provide that info to all of you as well. South Elgin will be hosting some important district and state wide tournaments in 2025 and we are proud to be chosen to do so.
As always if you have any questions in regard to anything league related you can email us at [email protected] and we'll be glad to answer your questions and concerns.
We are still in need of a VP at our youngest baseball divisions (tee-ball and coach pitch) as well as someone to fill the role of League Secretary. Anyone interested in learning more about what these roles entail and the responsibilities that are expected should reach out to me directly so we can start the conversation. r[email protected]
Looking forward to another wonderful season here in South Elgin with all of you.
Thanks,
Ryan Marzano - SELL President
