Tee Ball - 4, 5, &6 year old's get a Basic understanding of throwing, catching, swinging a bat, fielding a ball, running bases and terminology - no score is kept - boys and girls are encouraged to register
Coach/Kid Pitch - 6, 7, & 8 year old's begin learning force outs at each base, the kids begin to pitch every other inning - no score is kept
Tee Ball and Coach/Kid Pitch is generally held @ Lions Park, with Some Games Will Played at Jim Hansen Park.
Minors - 9, 10, 11 year old's will incorporate more Baseball rules and an Umpire, trust in your teammates begins defensively, Pitchers and Catchers become vital positions - the game is played on a 46 foot mound and 60 foot bases - score is kept and you will be traveling within the District - Umpires are encouraged to have a wide strike zone to encourage batters to swing at pitches. League Age 8 can tryout and must go through evaluation to make sure the player is ready to play at the Minor (AAA) Level.
Majors - 9, 10, 11, & 12 year old's will begin seeing the Outfield becoming more necessary and the infields will be tested with the amount of baserunning and stealing which will occur. All players must be go through evaluation for this division of play.
Intermediate - 12 + 13 year old's the Defense becomes very important and the Outfielders are vital - lead offs - balks -
the field goes to 50 foot mound and 70 foot bases. League 12 players must go through evaluation process for this division.
Juniors + Seniors - 13 years of age and up - played on a regulation 60 foot mound and 90 foot bases

SOFTBALL
Minor B is for 6, 7, 8, & 9 year old's
Minor A is for 8, 9, 10 year old's
Majors is for 10, 11, 12 year old's
Juniors is for 12, 13, 14 year old's
All softball divisions will require traveling within the District 13 boundary. All Home games will be played at either Hansen Park or Lions Park in South Elgin.
For the Fall Seasons, we recommend that you register your player for the level she will play at the following Spring season. This will allow her to become acclimated to the new rules.
Minor B – League ages 6, 7 and 8 year olds. This is the beginner’s level of softball focusing on the basics of throwing, catching, swinging a bat, fielding a ball, running bases, pitching and terminology. No score is kept. At this level, the season will begin with 100% coach pitch and the girls will become more involved as pitchers as the season progresses. Players will pitch from a 32-foot mound. A batting tee will not be used at this level.
Minor A – League ages 8, 9, and 10 year olds. At this level, pitchers and catchers play a very important role. Players will pitch 75% of the game with some coach before transitioning to 100% kid pitch. Players will pitch from a 35-foot mount. Infielders are tested with the amount of baserunning and base stealing that will occur. We begin to keep score at this level. Umpires are used beginning at this level and are encouraged to have a wide strike zone to encourage batters to swing at pitches. All players must go through an evaluation to participate at this level of play.
Majors – League ages 10, 11 and 12 year olds. At this level, the players have become independent pitchers who will work from a 40-foot mound. The coach is a game manager now and is no longer a participant in the game. The outfield becomes an integral part of the game. All players must go through an evaluation to participate at this level of play.
Juniors and Seniors – League age 13 years of age and up. Played on a 43-foot pitcher’s mound.
