CODE OF CONDUCT
As President of South Elgin Little League, I want everyone to know our league’s most important commitment is to provide a safe environment for all players, coaches, and spectators. It is imperative that everyone is aware and understands our CODE OF CONDUCT Policy obligations and consequences. The policy pertains to everyone who chooses to be part of our league. The following list will provide guidance for a safe, exciting, and successful season. Remember to drive carefully around the park lot at all times.
>Respect the umpires and their decisions. Team Managers can dispute if need be. This is not your responsibility.
- >No TAUNTING either team. The players are young and learning.
- >NO PROFANITY! Please place the well-being of any players and umpires ahead of your emotions.
- >ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL or SMOKING ALLOWED IN THE PARK!
- >Always know where your children are. Do not let them play in the parking lots.
- >Make sure you watch out for small children, strollers, and wagons around parked cars.
>Do not catch in walkways or near spectators before or during games. Do not swing bats and throw baseballs in the common areas where spectators come to watch games.
>Do not play around tractors or any field equipment. Observe all posted signs.>Do not take your frustration out on concession stand helpers as they are only following directions.
>Do not disrespect managers, coaches, or players. Consequences will be: Strike 1= Suspension, Strike 2 = removal from the League with players, and no Strike 3 because we are adults.
>Only managers, coaches, and team parents are allowed in dugouts.
>If not selected to be a coach, please stay off the field.
>After the game is finished pick up belongings or trash, as lost and found is only held for 2 weeks.
>When traveling for games please understand whether you are a manager, coach, player, spectator, or family member that represents the South Elgin Little League. We ask you to please respect other towns and managers, while allowing them to perform their responsibilities (especially under unforeseen circumstances). Please note that there are district repercussions for another league not being prepared for a traveling team.
>If a situation srises, please email manager or VP and allow 24 hours for a response. Please do not immediately contact members of the board. The manager and VP have the right to refrain.
>Always be alert of foul balls
>Practice time for instruction will be run as trial and error.
>Stay clear of confrontation. If the situation escalates to a serious level, call 911.
>Treat your player with respect and understand they are trying their best.
>We will not tolerate anyone who uses SOCIAL MEDIA to tarnish the league and disrespect managers or coaches. There will be an Immediate Suspension.
Please keep in mind that those who dedicate our personal time without pay are all volunteers and we enjoy working for the League. It is important that the expectations are clearly laid out, as well as consequences. Any infractions will be dealt with the Executive Board (Board of Directors). The proper channel for communication is Manager- VP of Division- Vice President- Then President.
