FAQ

Q. Why play for South Elgin Little League?
A. In our 61st year as a community organization we offer a more affordable option to play baseball and
softball in our hometown. We offer winter clinics for player development and strive to build an overall
community effort and experience that promotes togetherness and advancement for all players.

Q. When does registration start?
A. Generally in December and ends in February. The actual season starts in April through the end of
June.

Q. How do I register?
A. By creating an account at https://tshq.bluesombrero.com/southelginllil

Q. How do I know what division my child should play?
A. Division is based on your child's league age. Evaluations will determine if your child needs to move up
or down in divisions for safety. Please see the attached links from Little League International's website
to clarify what league age your child is for the upcoming season.

Q. When and where are Evaluations?
A. Evaluations are held in March. Location and date will be emailed and posted on the Facebook page.
Here you will be fitted for uniforms.

Q. What is the cost?
A. Cost varies depending on what division you play. Payment plans, financial assistance if qualified are
available.

Q. What do I need to purchase?
A. All players need their own glove, cleats and batting helmet and most purchase their own bats. If purchasing
a bat make sure it is stamped with the USA baseball logo (link below). However, most teams will have
plenty of bats to go around and you do not need your own but most players do like to have one. T-ball,
Coach Pitch and Softball require helmets with face masks. Water bottles are an obvious and good idea
and should be labeled with your players name (as should all equipment). Socks will need to be
purchased but wait to see what team you are on and discuss with your coaches. Athletic supporters are
required for all boys to participate in practices and games. Jerseys and pants will be provided by the
league.
