Wanaque Rec Soccer
Wanaque Soccer Association!!
The Wanaque Soccer Association is the collection of volunteers, parents, and children who enjoy and make soccer possible in Wanaque. The Association is open to all Wanaque residents (out of town friends are also welcomed). We have a Fall Recreational program for children from age 3 to 8th grade. In conjunction with Ringwood we also support a Travel soccer program for children ages 8 to 15 (sometimes 16) that plays both Fall and Spring in the Morris County Youth Soccer league.
Rec Soccer is about having fun - the players, the parents, and the coaches. While having fun, you are also learning.
The first games are the Saturday after Labor Day. All games are at Back Beach. Teams are coed and players are aggregated by grade level (Pre-K; K; first and second; third through fifth; and sixth through eighth). We try to get eight (8) games in for each team, weather permitting.
Teams typically practice one night a week - the specific night and time depends on your child's coach - so volunteer to coach and you set the time most
convenient
for you. Most games are played Saturday mornings, or early afternoon. We sometimes play a week-night night game as the players like to play under the lights.
We have occasionally play games on Sundays.
PK games generally start at 8:45 or 9:00 while kindergarten games are either at the same time or immediately following. Times for all other levels vary.
Players must wear shin-guards and cleats (cleats are optional for pre-k players) and players should bring plenty of water to both practices and games.
The snack stand will be open all Saturdays, and some weeknights. The snack stand takes cash and Venmo.
Children are not assigned to a team till mid-August. Once they are assigned their coach will reach out to you.
