Camp in the "Q"

Wanaque's Summer Camp, Camp in the "Q" runs for eight weeks from the end of June to mid-August.
Registration stays open even during the Camp season - however there are late fees after May 31.

2026 Summer Camp

Please read the registration instructions before selecting any options: INSTRUCTIONS

If you want to register for less than a full week, select the 3-day option (Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday), when available. You will then be asked if you want to add Monday and/or Friday, or if you want to skip Thursday. If Camp is going on a trip, there is no option for campers to remain at Back Beach.

We have added a SPECIAL day prior to the camp even beginning - On Friday, June 26, we are going to the Land of Make Believe in Hope, NJ. This is the ONLY day / trip that parents may attend. The registration fee for this date is non-refundable. Maximum of 42 after which a waiting list will be opened but no guarantee that those on the waiting list will be able to attend.

Camp days are from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, or you can supersize your child's camp day (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM).

Week 1: June 29 to July 2 - Scavenger Hunt Week (4-day week - No Camp on Friday July 3, also no trip this week)

Week 2: July 6 to July 10 - Wilderness Week with a trip to Turtle Back Zoo on Thursday, July 9

Week 3: July 13 to July 17 - We celebrate the Olympics all week and have a trip to the Funplex on Thursday July 16

Week 4: July 20 to July 24 - Time Travelers' Week, and on Thursday July 23 we go to Medieval Times

Week 5: July 27 to July 31 - 2026 a Space Odyssey - Special Activity / Trip most likely will be to see Toy Story 5

Week 6: August 3 to August 7 - Pirate Week, with two choices

A pirate ship cruise (Jersey Shore Pirates, Brick Township) geared towards younger campers (4th grade and younger) - limit of 35 campers

Must select either the 3-day or 5-day option AND the cruise option

Alternative activity will most likely be playing pirate themed video games on large screens with Big Screen Events at the Rec Center. - not selecting the cruise option defaults to the local event.

Week 7: August 10 to August 14 - Magic Week. Five days of magic lessons. No 3-day option this week.

Week 8: August 17 to August 21 - Wacky Water Week

You can elect to pay in two installments. The majority will be due at registration, while the balance will be charged to your credit card on May 22.

Parents do not have to register for all weeks at the same time.

HOWEVER,

a) registration for any given week closes about two weeks prior, AND

b) there is a late fee for ALL registrations after May 31

Refunds:

Special Land of Make Believe trip is NON refundable.

Prior to June 15: 95%, excluding the Sports Connect administrative fee.

June 15 and later: 80% excluding the Sports Connect administrative fee.

Federal Spending Account Reimbursements:

Some FSA administrators want to see the tax id number of the Camp / Borough.

Add Pirate Ship Cruise to Week 6 (must also select one of the week six options)

Week 3: 3-Days - July 14 to July 16 (with July 13 and July 17 optional)

Week 6: 3-Days - August 4 to August 6 (with August 3 and August 7 optional)
