Rutherford Little League Donation Information
Rutherford Little League is not financially supported by the town in any way, and we are independently responsible for funding all aspects of Little League operations. We are run by volunteers, and rely solely on registration fees, sponsorships, kitchen profits, and other various fundraising to operate the league - all of which have been hit hard with the loss of the season. Properly and safely running the Rutherford Little League costs almost $90,000 annually.
As we begin to plan for our 72nd season this year, we hold strong to our core principles - promoting the ideals of fair play and sportsmanship to borough youngsters eager to learn the game. In order to continue to offer a safe and fun baseball experience for all of our players, we have several improvements we would like to make:
- Upgrading field lighting to provide a safer night game experience
- Cleaning and expanding spectator seating in the outfield and third base bleachers
- Enlarging clubhouse storage and maintenance area
- Installation of new turf and netting in the batting cages
All of these proposed enhancements along with annual maintenance, and new regulations we must implement due to COVID-19 cost money. If we are to survive and grow in today’s world, your help is critical. Every year, you have been more than gracious in your support of the Rutherford Little League, and we hope that 2022 will be no exception.
This year, our players will not be walking the town to collect any donations, so if you are willing and able to help, we have a few options:
