LYSA Little League Softball is comprised of 3 divisions. Tee Ball/Coach Pitch, Minors and Majors. We are sanctioned through Little League International and follow all Little League rules as well as LL playing ages. Below is a brief description of each division.

 

The Major Division is for players ages 9-12. The field uses 60 foot bases and a 40 foot pitching distance. Inter-League play continues with the major division. Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved as managers, coaches, and volunteer in a variety of other capacities. More advanced, if your daughter is 9 or 10 and new to the game consider having her play in the minor player pitch division. 

 

Minor League Softball is for participants 8-11 years old. This division introduces player pitching. Bases are 60 feet and the pitching distance is 35 feet. Helmets with facemask and fielding mask are required to play in this division. More competitive division that introduces inter-league play against other local leagues. Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved as managers, coaches, and volunteer in a variety of other capacities.  

 

Tee Ball/Coach Pitch Softball is for girls 4-7 years old. This division introduces the game of softball to the girls. It focuses on throwing, catching, and hitting. Teaching basic fundamentals of the game. The season may start with a tee and progress to coach pitch depending on the ability of the player. Bases are 60 feet.  Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved as managers, coaches, and volunteer in a variety of other capacities. We strongly suggest girls who have never played before and are 7 years old to play a season here to learn the fundamentals of the game. The minor division is much more fast-paced with player pitch introduced.  

 

Cancellation Policy:

- If a player cancels their registration up to 10 business days before the start of the season (9/12/2026), a refund will be processed upon request less the website fee, credit card processing fee and any other unrecoverable outlays (uniforms etc.).

- Beginning 10 business days before the start of the season (9/2/2026), no refunds or credits will be given for cancelations unless a state/local governing body restricts the ability to conduct practices and/or games. 

- If one or more state/local governing bodies implement laws that restrict the ability to conduct practices and/or games resulting in the cancellation of the baseball/softball season prior to the start of the season, all players who are currently registered will receive an option of a full refund or a credit on their account for next season.  

- In the event that the season starts but is unable to finish due to one or more state/local governing bodies implement laws restricting the ability to conduct subsequent practices and/or games, LYSA Little League will offer a pro-rated refund less the website fee, credit card processing fee and any other unrecoverable outlays (uniforms etc.) to offset nonrefundable program costs.

A late fee of $50.00 will be applied to any reregistration after 8/1/2026.
