2026 Challenger Division

What Is the Challenger Division?

The Challenger Division is a unique branch of Little League Baseball designed for players ages 4–18. Its goal is to give every athlete the chance to experience the fun and excitement of baseball, regardless of ability. The program focuses on inclusion, teamwork, and personal growth, creating a safe and encouraging environment where players can build confidence, develop skills, and enjoy the game at their own pace.

How the Challenger Division Works

Challenger games are non-competitive — no scores are kept, and every player gets a chance to bat each inning. Each athlete is paired with a “buddy”, a volunteer who helps ensure safety, offers guidance, and provides encouragement both on the field and in the dugout. Buddies are trained to support players as needed, while allowing them as much independence as possible.

The emphasis is on fun, participation, and achievement — celebrating effort and teamwork rather than outcomes. Families and volunteers work together to create an uplifting game-day atmosphere where every player feels like a part of the team.
