Freeport Little League provides each team with:
- Catcher's gear
- Hitting machines (machine-pitch divisions only)
Each player will be provided a uniform, including:
- Team hat (tee-ball and baseball only)
- Team visor (softball only)
- Team jersey
- Team Belt
- Team Socks
Players should be equipped with the following for their personal use:
- Fielding glove
- Safety equipment: Protective cups male players divisions minor and up
- Molded cleats (no metal spikes) or tennis shoes
- Additional socks
If assistance is needed with obtaining any of the items listed above, then contact the FLLAA Equipment Manager. This should not prohibit any player from playing.
Optional equipment that each player may wish to provide includes:
Personal Protective Gear, for example:
- Batting helmet face mask
- Heart / chest guard
- Mouth guard
- Wrist guard
As of January 1, 2018, the new USA Baseball Bat Standard was implemented. USABat Standard bats must be used in the Little League Major Baseball Division and below. Either USABat Standard bats or BBCOR bats must be used at the Intermediate (50/70) Baseball and Junior League Baseball Divisions. At the Senior League Baseball Division, all bats must be meet the BBCOR standard. Little League-approved baseball bats that were approved for use for the 2017 season will no longer be acceptable for use in any Little League game or activity as of January 1, 2018. Important Note: These changes only affect baseball divisions and don’t affect any divisions of softball.
USABat models are performance tested and certified using USA Baseball’s Performance Test Protocol.
Team representatives are asked to check your team’s bats and remove any non-USA or illegal bat(s) from play. If illegal bat is discovered during gameplay, then the team is subject to penalties listed on Rule 6.06(d).
