Need Help with Equipment?

At South, we look to help all Baseball Families

We look forward to helping our families by providing 2 amazing opportunities to save some money on equipment. Whether they are new to the sport or a seasoned vet, we want to make sure you are comfortable with the gear you're getting them, and that you are saving some money in the process.

Our Pitch It Forward Program is something we put on twice a year (Spring and Fall) with the goal of helping families get free access to broken-in gloves, used bats, cleats or helmets that former South families have traded in or donated. This allows new players to have a chance to start playing the game with a broken-in glove, swing a properly sized bat, and not spend money on cleats or a helmet they may grow out of quickly. We also help with assisting families on how to break in gloves, and how to size them for the best bat.

Pitch It Forward

If they cannot find what they are looking for, we also provide our South families with a special discount to Dicks Sporting Goods for 1 weekend in the Spring. If you shop at DSG between 3/8 and 3/10 this year, and use our coupon, you will save 20% on your purchase!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q What is the schedule for my division?

A The schedule for each division is put together by the division coordinators once the teams and rosters are finalized. The coordinator and/or team coaches for each division will send out the schedules when ready. Our league's opening day of games is scheduled for April 23, 2022. Depending on the division, the regular seasons would go until the first weekend of June (weather permitting).Post-season tournaments for the older divisions would be played throughout the summer months.

Q Where do we play our games and practices?

A Southington South has access to all the fields at Rec Park. Please see our field map for a diagram of where the fields are located and which divisions play on those fields. There are always some exceptions throughout the season, but our divisions play on the following fields:

  • Field A: T-Ball
  • Field B: T-Ball
  • Field 1: LL Majors
  • Field 2: LL Majors & Triple-A
  • Field 3: Jr & Sr Divisions
  • Field 4: Double-A
  • Field 5: Double-A
  • Field 6: Triple-A

For parking, you can use any of the Rec Park or South End School parking available. For quicker access to Fields 3 and 5, we recommend driving passed the Concession Stand to the end of the road, take a right into the soccer field lot, and park beyond the left field fence of Field 3.

Our T-Ball division uses the open grass field at the entrance of Rec Park for practices and clinics. Southington South is also granted access to the baseball fields at Strong Elementary and Kennedy Middle School for practicing.

Q Does our registration fee include our team shirt and hat?

A Yes. For the Majors and Triple-A divisions, we typically assemble teams and order team shirts/hats shortly after tryouts. For Double-A and T-Ball, we'll put the teams together shortly after the registration deadline so we can place our shirt order. We ask that you make sure to accurately insert your player's shirt size when registering as that determines our final order. Team hats are typically provided to the players and coaches before the first game.
