Host League provides umpires* – 2 or more (*during Pool Play)
Before the game begins, the umpires will do a safety inspection of the game field and confirm with the managers of both teams at the plate conference that all equipment is proper and legal for play according to little league rules (Rule 3.01(a) 2025 Significant Rule Update).
2025 Significant Rule Update The manager of each team is responsible for ensuring that all equipment is legal and proper for play according to Little League rules (Rule 3.01(a)), including: the catcher equipment (make sure the catcher’s helmet has a throat guard – required even on the hockey style helmets), check the helmets are in compliance, check the bats for cracks and are still round, and that they have USA BAT or meet the guidelines if they are wood bats. (BBCOR bats are allowed in Intermediates or Juniors only.)
During the pregame meeting, make sure that players are properly equipped to play Little League Baseball (are wearing an athletic supporter, catchers have a hard cup).
2025 Significant Rule Update Any jewelry worn by a player that poses a harm to injury will be subject to removal. This rule applies regardless of the composition of such jewelry, hard cosmetic item, or hard decorative item. Hard items to control the hair, such as beads, are permitted.Exception: Jewelry that alerts medical personnel to a specific condition is permitted. (Rule 1.00(j))
