CODE OF CONDUCT

I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care and encouragement for my child participating in youth sports by following this Parent’s Code of Ethics

I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches and officials at every game, practice or other youth sports event.

I will place the emotional and physical well being of my child ahead of my personal desire to win.

I will insist that my child play in a safe and healthy environment.

I will require that my child’s coach be trained in the responsibilities of being a youth sports coach and that the coach upholds the Coaches’ Code of Ethics.

I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.

I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and will refrain from their use at all youth sports events.

I will remember that the game is for youths—not adults.

I will do my very best to make youth sports fun for my child.

I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed or ability.

I will honor and respect the decisions of the Board Member on duty, even if I don’t agree.

COVID and Communicable Disease Protocols

We will follow all recommendations and guidelines of the Salt Lake County Health Department and any Public Health Orders issued by them.  We will update as health orders are updated.

We will require all players and participants to wear a mask when social distancing is not possible. Since we will be outside, family and friends attending the games/practices will only be required to wear a mask if social distancing is not possible while attending the game, and when visiting the snack shack.

Play at your own risk - If you are high risk or very concerned we recommend that you do not play this season and would love to see you back next  year.

Feeling sick?  All players, coaches, or spectators that are not feeling must stay at home.  Games will NOT be forfeited for less than 9 players.  We will make it work and get kids playing.

All parents are required to evaluate players for symptoms and take temperatures prior to traveling to the ballpark.  We will NOT be taking temperatures at the ball field.

Any visitors, Coach or Players who have any of the following will not be allowed to attend games or be allowed at the park:

o   Fever in past 7 days

o   Any form of Cough in past 7 days

o   Any contact with a known person who has Covid19 in past 15 days

When in doubt use the CDC Covid system checker - https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html

Positive Test Results: If anyone associated with your team tests positive for COVID-19 Teams must:

A. Contact their local health department for guidance on how to proceed as a team or use current CDC guidelines for guidance.

B.  Until the health department has cleared players from any type of quarantine, CDC quarantine time has elapsed, or CDC guidelines for negative tests have been followed they are ineligible to participate.

Contact tracing is handled through the health department.

Canceled gamesIf a whole team is required to quarantine, the games will be canceled and we will try to reschedule at end of season but cannot guarantee we will have space as we may also have to try to reschedule some games for rain.

Helmets

  • Quickball / Tball players do NOT need helmets at all as we are using the safe quickball equipment.  They can bring gloves but they are not required.  We will have them sanitize their hands after each station.

  • All others we recommend purchasing your own helmet, but no worries if you are not able to.  We will ‘rent’ them to you and you can keep it all season with a sticker with your name on it and return it at the end.

  • Catchers helmets must be sprayed and wiped with sanitizer between players.

No high fives or handshakes at any time.  We will tip our hats to the other team at the end for good sportsmanship.

Sanitizer – we plan to keep sanitizer available for players and spectators in multiple locations - snack shack, restroom, dugouts etc.

Spectators -  Please limit spectators to 4 per player and use all areas around the field to social distance and spread out.  If not possible, you must wear masks.

No opening ceremonies due to social distancing rules.  We will still provide awards and Crown Tshirts at the end of the season to teams individually.  If things improve we are happy to revisit closing ceremonies.

Enter and exit quickly as possible, no congregating and wait for others to clear out completely before entering.
