Umpire Meeting Agenda

·       Bob to open:
o   Discuss the first presidents meeting.
o   Share important dates for the umpires.
§  Touch on the Rules clinic before mechanics clinic (to be discussed in next section).
§  City Tournament.
·         If old way dates are April 5 through April 11
·         If new way dates are May 2 to May 9

·       Gary to Discuss clinics philosophy.
o   Rules clinic Jan 28 and Jan 30 to include starting and ending a game.
§  Plate meeting
§  Set the tone for the mechanics clinic.
o   New way of working the mechanics clinic Feb 1.
§  Remember that these clinics are for local umpires not advanced mechanics.
§  Splitting the attendees into 2 groups each group isolated to a field.
§  Each field has a main presenter with others in support.
·         3 stations only Intro and Basic 6 (Ball, Strike, Time, Safe, Out, Foul).
·         Removing movement at the plate
o   Adding movement at the plate into soft toss.
·         Balls and Strikes/Plays at the plate
·         Position A
·         Positions B & C

·         Mike to discuss Western Regional Update.
o   Next regional academy is Friday February 21 – Wednesday Feb 26.
o   Next weekend mechanics clinic is Saturday March 1 and 2^nd.
o   Regional registration ends December 31.
o   New mechanics and Little League umpire philosophy. 
o   ID Camps.
§  Why and how they work.
·    Mike to discuss Website update (still have one)
o   Will be updating of the next few weeks

·         Joe to update uniforms.
o   Recommended hats and shirts (Gerry Davis website if possible)
§  Richardson hat (preferred)
§  Smitty, Majestic and Davis paneled shirt

·         Any umpire issues, questions or comments on recent games. (15 minutes if needed)

·         D30 to have Majors sectional and possibly intermediate.

·         Discussed philosophy of taking line-ups. Majority take home, go through lineup then take visitor. Should be taking both lineups and then go over lineups.
