Dear AYBS Families-

Medway and Hopkinton have recently announced that they will be playing their traditional summer seasons known as Tondorf and Sizzler. These seasons are expected to begin on August 7 with playoffs ending on or about September 3. 

AYBS intends to field teams playing in 4 league age divisions (9, 10, 11 and 12).
Players wishing to be considered for summer teams should register on the AYBS website by Wednesday, July 22.

Due to Covid-19 field restrictions, there will be no open tryout. Players for the Summer League teams will be chosen by a combination of current coaches's skills assessment and a vote of the respective League managers.

We understand that families have vacation plans during the season time frame. However, due to the brevity of the season, players are asked to make a commitment to playing a minimum of 7 of the 10 games including playoffs.

Both Tondorf and Sizzler are fun and competitive baseball experiences. Considerations:
A finite number of players will be chosen to play on each team. 

• A previous summer assignment will not impact selection to a team for this summer
• Not all players will get a chance to play all positions. 
• 11 and 12 year old players are only required to bat once and play 6 consecutive defensive outs for Tondorf purposes
• While some coaches may choose to have a continuous batting order, it is not required.
• Only players that have played in AYBS "spring" season are eligible for consideration for a summer team.
• Tondorf will play two weekend games and one weeknight game, Sizzler will play a combination of weekend and weekday games. It is unknown at this time what weeknight each age group will be playing.

Registration cost for summer teams is $155, which is payable upon receiving a team assignment. 

When you register, you will be asked to include any vacation plans that may impact your child's ability to participate.
