I'd Like to Volunteer

AYBS Volunteer Policy

Anyone new to volunteering in any capacity and/or having repetitive access to children in the Ashland Youth Baseball & Softball program (e.g. coaching, assistant coaching, field maintenance, Board of Directors, snack shack, etc.) will have a comprehensive background check run. AYBS requires Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI) checks based on national and state criminal history database checks in addition to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI).

AYBS and the Little League have partnered with JDP to administer background checks using an online screening tool. You will no longer be required to complete paper forms but will need to register as a volunteer at aybsonline.com under your My Account and then Volunteer. Once you have registered as a volunteer AYBS will send you an invitation to initiate your background check. We will no longer be accepting paper CORI forms.

Whether you are a returning volunteer, you have volunteered in previous years a background check must be run. Prior checks are good for a period of 12 months.

All volunteers must be approved through this process prior to any involvement or interaction with the children participating in the Ashland Youth Baseball & Softball program and they must be executed by April 15th, 2021.
