AYBS has open positions for the 2025 Baseball season. Desired qualities of volunteers include integrity, a desire to contribute positively to the experience of our Ashland youths, and an interest in the game. Open positions are as follows:
VP, Senior Baseball (Babe Ruth)
Responsible for the Babe Ruth League program activities for Spring and Summer. Onsite representative to support parents and coaches throughout the season. Looks for ways to improve the program and experience for our older players. The vast majority of the responsibilities for this role are before the season starts:
- Attend monthly AYBS Board Meetings
- Drive registration
- Line up Head Coaches
- Organize and run a draft for each session (if more than 1 team)
- Order Jerseys and Hats
- Coordinate with AYBS Equipment Manager on catchers' gear and ordering baseballs
- Book Stone Park baseball field with the town for games and practice
- Ensure Stone Park shed has appropriate equipment, chalk and quick dry
- Active communication with Tri-Valley League coordinator and other Babe Ruth coordinator
- This is a two-year commitment.
