SDLL Annual Meeting

Please mark your calendars for our SDLL annual meeting to take place on October 30th from 7-8 pm at Kappas of Durham Foundation Community Center (3917 Fayetteville Street, Durham, NC 27707).  This meeting is open to ALL SDLL families and we encourage everyone to attend. We will discuss the State of the League, the parent survey, future plans and answer any questions that you may have regarding the league.  So please save the date and plan to attend.

As the 2017 season is moving closer to an end, the SDLL BOD will immediately turn our attention to planning for the 2018 spring season.  As you are aware, SDLL is an all-volunteer organization. There is no affiliation with any government or other organization.  We all volunteer for different reasons and in different capacities, but every volunteer contributes to the League's success.  As a coach, I have started my seasons emailing my team families talking about how it takes more than a coach to run a successful team.  Parent involvement is critical to team success.  The same holds true for our league. The more parents the league can get involved, the better league we will have.  So, please jump on board for any of the various volunteer opportunities we will have available as we prepare for our spring 2018 season.  Every parent, grandparent, player, coach, sibling, friend is an integral part of the SDLL community. Volunteering is a wonderful way to enhance your experience with SDLL and to make a difference for 500 youth baseball players who, quite frankly, deserve the best!

Currently, SDLL is seeking nominations to the BOD for 2018.  The BOD meets every month for two hours or less and is heavily involved with planning and running all aspects of the League.  You may not think you have the time for the BOD, it may be out of your comfort zone, but it is so worth it.   To nominate yourself or someone else you believe can help, please click on the following:

The SDLL BOD has three - four membership roles to fill.  Roles that will help shape the way we function as a league, in our attempt to provide your children with the best experience possible.  As an organization with more than 500 participants during a calendar year, these roles require time and dedication, but they do not require a deep knowledge of baseball.

On behalf of the current Board, we sincerely hope you will consider volunteering and attending the annual meeting on the 30th.

Thank you.
