The Almaden 12U Lightning competed in the 2023 Little League Softball World Series in Greenville, NC. 12 teams, split into 2 groups of 6, played for the championship.

The 12U Lightning, Champions of US-West, were in the Purple Bracket with US-Central (Austintown, OH), North Carolina (Salisbury, NC), Asia-Pacific (Bacolod City, Philippines), US-Southwest (Hewitt, TX), and US-Southeast (Winterville, NC).

Forming the Orange Bracket were Latin America (Guayama, Puerto Rico), Canada (St. Albert, Alberta), US-Northwest (Bend, OR), Europe-Africa (Milano, Italy), US-New England (Milford, CT), and US-Mid-Atlantic (Massapequa, NY).

The Championship Game was played on Sunday, Aug 13. Massapequa, NY beat Winterville, NC 5-2.
